He is always good for at least one surprise a year. I will say I was surprised that we got Okung and even more surprised when I saw what we got him for.

I know I got shot down with this idea earlier but I still think Reggie Nelson could be coming to the Broncos. They love to play a ton of 3 Safety sets and while I like Stewart in coverage Bruton was still our best coverage safety this past year in my opinion. So Nelson can take that role and add depth to both safety spots with Stewart and Ward both having some injury concerns. I honestly don't think he would cost a ton. The only way I see this happening though is if we don't get Kaepernick so we have some more cap room to make a little bigger move.

i like that idea but i think he will want a bigger deal (and lengthier) than what we would be willing to give out. I'm thinking a vet on cheap on the tail end of their career... not sure who tho

i could see elway going CB earlier than people think. It is one of his big "core" positions on a roster according to elway (qb, lt, pass rusher, 1v1 corner) and with Webster entering his final year of his contract, Talib a potential cut next season (given age and how his contract is structured) as well as Roby going to be given a decent contract soon, if a good CB that fits our system (Apple does to a t) falls to us round 1, I can see Elway taking him given what having a guy like apple means not just next year, but 3 years from now. Elway hasn’t been about getting solid contribution from his draft guys year 1 anyways, so getting a stud at a core position early in the draft to develop into a starter in a year or so while being cheap compared to the market is not a poor strategy… imo at least

Cook to me has the highest floor of any of the top-5 QB's in this draft. He also though doesn't have quite as high a ceiling though. Cook reminds me honestly a lot of Alex Smith. Some running ability or at least more than people ever think there is, good arm not great, can make all the throws. He is a little bit different in he is willing to take more risks than Smith but I think Smith is about the Ceiling for Cook.

Lynch on the other hand reminds me of Big Ben. Strong arm, can move around a lot, can take some hits, and can make some throws with guys hanging on him because he just has that good of an arm. I'm just glad I am not Elway having to make this decision. Lots of risk whatever he decides to do. The more we get closer to the draft though the more I do think QB is the way we go.
