I figured why not bring this back, good to keep us busy.

Round 1 - Pick 5 - Quenton Nelson, G, Notre Dame.

Round 2 - Pick 40 - Mason Rudolph, QB, Oklahoma State.

I'd be happy with that since Nelson is so head and shoulders above his peers and ready to start.

I’d be really happy with both - especially to get Rudolph in 2nd.

Not that it matters what I think, but believe we would have to trade up into the 20’s to get Rudolph.

Love Nelson. Not sold on Rudolph. I would be happy overall, though.

I'd be making more Kool aide for Mingo, because I'd have finished the first pitcher.

I'd be happier with a starting RT for our 2nd round pick.

While I think Nelson is a stud I think he won't change the org enough at this point like Chubb or Barkley would.

I'd give this pair a B

B- for me. I just have a hard time getting behind not going QB in the 1st when we are this high up in the draft in a very QB friendly draft. I like Nelson which is why this got as high of a grade as it did.

In my view the Bronco's exercised their choice - when they decided to sign Keenum. QBs of this rating should be put to work as starters in the first season and expected to have some results in season 2.

Elway wants to win now - and I think he wants Barkley. A 3 down power back with moves and speed - will take the pressure off any QB. The bi-product is the defense has to account for the run first and the oline protects better. The real value will be in running down the clock at the end of a half or game - a Bell Cow running back will make you first downs and tire out the defense.

Defenses, in general, have gotten too light and agile to protect against the hurry up passing game offense - popular around the league. This means they are weak and the power running game is the answer. Fortunately, it is a lot easier to draft college players to block for the run and it is to protect for the pass. The extra time to pass in this offense will be because the defense can't assume you are passing and are therefore much easier to block.

Throw all the QB garbage as the team last year and the year before, but with CJ and the others the Broncos had players who could break a long one, but they have not be able to give 1st downs on 3rd or 4th and short.

I kinda agree with Mingo. Denver could try to ride Keesum hoping for a rich gannon resurgence for the next 4-5 years.

Hmmm, those complaining that we didn't go QB at #5 don't realize how good Rudolph will be and in round 2??? CHA CHING!! This is a TERRIFIC scenario. We're winning the draft at this point. :)

Agree completely.

I've been wanting Nelson all year, and always liked Rudolph. To STEAL him at the top of round two almost makes the draft by itself.

This draft is a big win.

This was the "draft scenario" to end all "draft scenarios."

Why select a one read 6-5 QB when we already have one plus when was the last time a Big 12 QB amounted to anything in the NFL.
