Draft position value

There seems to be a lot of discussion and excuses about the Fuller trade. So let me ask...what is the point in the NFL draft where you would be happy to get a top three slot corner?

We all know a top three QB is worth the number one pick.

We all know a top three guard is worth the number five pick because well Scherff.

So what is the draft position that warrants a top three slot corner? I would easily say first round, the question for me is how high. I would easily say 15. I would need to think about higher.

I think it depends on a couple of things.

For one...when you draft somebody you draft a CHANCE at a good player, not a good player.

However, if they are good from the get go theyre worth more than a player entering his 3rd season whos that much closer to getting paid.

So are we talking a chance at a good player or a guaranteed good player in your hypothetical?

Assuming you mean Fuller in his current state though (proven slot corner, cheap, entering year 3)...yea hes probably at worst a late 1st round pick.

If its a magical hypothetical where you take a 21 year old in this draft who is somehow guaranteed to be a top 3 slot corner then probably a top 10 pick. A guarantee of being good is worth more than a shot at being good.
