17 days till the 2014 draft, gentlemen (and Micro).

Whose it gonna be?

TrustMe is all in for a trade up to grab Watkins. Lionstop thinks we should go defense, defense, and more defense. I like Aaron Donald at #10 myself...

We should run through some different mock-draft scenarios on here to see how things might shake out.

This year's top 10 will be about as unpredictable of one as we've seen in a long time, imo. Up to 4 QBs could go in the top 10, or no QBs might go- it's that wide-open. Also, 3 left tackles could all go before our pick, or only one might. Unfortunately, the three players we'd likely want the most- Mack, Clowney, and Watkins are almost certain to be gone by our pick.

Stay tuned, should be a fun couple weeks...

Watkins or Evans. Don't leave Mike Evans out of this. With the starting roster set and depth at every position, it is imperative we trade up for a WR to give Stafford someone to throw the ball to.

Barring a trade up. The only guy at #10 that seems to make the most sense is Clinton-Dix. Starting to look like Evans will even be gone by then. However I'd be tickled pink if somehow Jake Matthews fell to #10 and would grab him in a heartbeat. Aaron Donald is a very good player but is a strict 3-technique and he isn't taking over Suh's spot unless somehow Mayhew let's him get away. I doubt it as he over paid for Pettidrops and will certainly break the bank for Suh.

Any of you guys like Ryan Shazier? His measureables at the combine were all elite and was a team leader and captain on the Buckeyes. Guy looks like he could be a star in the NFL possibly.

I think we should go defense, defense and more defense except for a 4th round pick on a center if a decent one falls.

Love the measurable, but sadly I think he'll fall between our #10 and our #45 picks.

If he's still there @ 45 we should snap him up... he and Levy would be the fastest, most athletic pair of OLBs in the league.

I like the call for defense, but with our need at WR we'd be foolish not to take one (or even two) in rounds 2-4 somewhere... maybe defense at #10 and #45 and then a WR in the 3rd and another with one of our 3 4th round picks? Draft a couple of tall, fast kids to help rebuild our WR corps behind Megatron and Tate. I think Ross will contribute from the slot, so adding a couple more outside types would pay off, imo...

Barr. I hope we do not trade up. If anything a trade back and see who fallls to us would be better. We already know Miami wants to trade up fro Lewand. I would like to take my chances to see who falls back to us at 19 and get an extra pick or 2.

Shazier reminds me of the guy I was praying the Lions drafted in Round 2, when we took Broyles instead. I was counting down the picks for Lavonte David, as I thought he would fill not only the BPA role, but a big need on the team. Unfortunately, Broyles was the pick.

If Shazier is on the board in round 2 -- I think he would be a tremendous pick for the Lions, but as was said by someone earlier, I think he is gone somewhere in the 11th-44th pick range. Some had him mocked in the top 25 picks and as high as going to Pittsburgh at 15.

As much as I've been against drafting a WR in the 1st round. I'd have no problem if a 1st round talents falls to round 2 and the Lions draft him, as they can upgrade the 3rd WR position. If someone like Brandin Cooks falls or Marquise Lee falls -- I would expect wholeheartedly for Detroit to grab one.

With the amount of talent at the WR position available in the draft -- Detroit will be able to get an extremely talented player in round 2 or round 3, that would have been a round 1 or round 2 pick in previous years.

I would not be surprised to see Mayhew trade up back into 1st or 2nd rd. will not mind as long as it is talent with no marks against them. Seems Mayhew has a way of fucking up on these picks though.

I really don't want to see offensive players unless a value player falls enough that we have to take him based on his BPA value compared to the defensive BPA. If Bridgewater is there in the third, go ahead. If Lee in the second, go ahead. If overall player rating close, we need defenders at every position badly so take the defender.

I think we should trade Stafford, Suh, and CJ to Houston for the #1 and take Johnny Football. Then trade all our other picks to St. Louis for the #2 and Tavon Austin and take Watkins.

Now we have cap room and Mayhew gets fired. Everybody is happy.:noidea:

Clinton Dix or Gilbert would be my choice.

Lewand might just take a case of beer for a trade down with Miami.

For some reason Miami loves our cast offs and backups. They have 3 already. They are looking to grab Lewand at 10 which is about where he will go. Would love to see it happen.
