I said the 49ers wouldn't offer #13 which they didnt. that is why I thought we had a good shot.

So you expected a higher pick from another team? Why didn’t you bring that up? I remember you brought up the Patriots and said they wouldn’t give up 15 and another team after the 49ers wouldn’t give up their first...but you want me to believe you expected he Panthers to give up 8?

Also, how do you know what the 49ers offered?

They took that deal b/c of Goff. If you take Goff out of the equation the #8 pick is worth more than two late first rounders. No doubt about it the Lions did well.
Well dean you can’t selectively take our parts if the deal .

Why will they be late first rounders? The Rams are in the same division as the Seahawks, 49ers, and Cardinals. The Rams are currently 35 million over the cap.

Should be a playoff team in the next 2 years. cmon now.

i didn't expect that from the Panthers. There was an article that broke down the offers. 49ers ddint offer anything when they learned 1st rounder were on the table.

The trade by the Lions is a head scratcher anyway. The Rams and McVay discarded a QB he didn't think he could win with, a bloated contract and likely to be replaced after a year with the QB you plan on drafting early. Everyone talks about the picks and flexibility. You are still carrying around your neck Jardo Goff who can't win you the big one and his ugly contract.

"As the quarterback, as the guy that's at arguably the most important position on the field, if you're in a place that you're not wanted and they want to move on from you, the feeling's mutual," Goff told the Los Angeles Times. "You don't want to be in the wrong place. It became increasingly clear that was the case." I would say Goff is no longer a McVay fan at the very least.

Lol, the Rams said here, take this guy (and his contract) and we will throw in 2 first if you take him. Yes Jarod, McVay thought you were the reason they couldn't win. When I say win, I'm talking SB. The Rams will not win the big one with Stafford either. No one will talk about that in 2 years when Stafford's deal is up and the picks given up no longer a thought. It's SUPERBOWL or complete bust for the Rams THIS SEASON.

i am wondering how a guy who took his team to a superbowl "cant win " his career record is 42 and 27 . he has 107 tds and 55 ints . he has an 11 win season and a 13 win season he was an NFL top 100 player in 18/19 (2 tot) and he is a 2 x pro bowler . he won one playoff game with a broken thumb that wasnt healed and he hung tough with the pack with the same broken thumb

he is better the any qb on our current team and the case could be made he is better then anyone we have had since thiesman

so i dont get the bitching . i will even pry my arms from around KC's nuts long enough to say he is better the my nut trophy i hug so dearly

the rams gave him the albatross contract and much like KC he would have been a complete dick not to sign it

look at what we got from CDC 's asswipe contract and the whopping 18 games he scraped up for us . we are no closer to a superbowl now then we were when we made that asinine trade

Not sure where you are going dad. I'm not bitching, I'm actually pointing out that while Goff got to a SB, McVay felt Goff wasn't the answer. Couldn't win with him, certainly buyers remorse and certainly jumped at the opportunity to get Stafford and discard Goff. Top 100 player, 2x PB doesn't mean shit these days apparently. Sounds like Goff lost some respect for quick trigger McVay if you ask me.

And like many others have said recently, Goff is a good QB and serviceable however, it was Donald and Gurley carrying that team to victories along the way.

That trade (AS) now has no relevance to our discussion about Stafford/Goff trade. That trade made by former morons no longer here.

the idea that a qb can carry a hole team on his shoulders is foolish . i would take goff and be happy . hell watson needs good players around him or he doesnt go 4-12
