Make or break year for Bishop. I can see him cut loose before the end of the season if he doesn’t produce. Pressure is on, young man.

Is “Carson” the new “Brandon”?
Apparently. Maybe the Giants can acquire a couple more Carsons for the starting rotation and make it all Carson.

Edit: Or Kyle and Keaton can legally change their names, they are close enough anyway.

I coached a YMCA youth basketball team in South Pasadena back in the day. There were five kids named “Kevin” on the team. It was interesting!

Kyle Harrison fastball averaged 93.4 MPH and maxed out at 94.5 MPH in his 1st inning of work with Sacramento. He averaged 92.5 MPH with his four-seamer last year. Control was shaky out of the gates. Still feels like he’s spraying the ball a bunch and really needs to develop a secondary that can generate whiffs. Good to see the velo climbing back up though. 4 IP, 4 H, 1 BB, 5 K, 1 solo bomb...encouraging. 61 pitches and they sat him.

That seems an awful lot like his minor league starts the year he made his debut. I hope that this is just a first start of the year type pitch limit.

Its essentially his third start of ST. 60 pitches is about right. He had more gas in the tank.

For anybody wondering Marco Luciano’s at bat quality was fantastic in Sac for the 2nd straight day. He’s been very disciplined but not overly passive. You can tell he’s up there looking to damage. Nothing to show for it last night but last AB was a 113.5 mph line out to CF

His bat is not his problem. His bat passed my eye test last season.

His problem is that pure DHs without DEVASTATING offensive numbers never lock in at the MLB level.
