They missed Heath Quinn, and probably some others (like Pinto). Quinn has a hamate bone injury.

I think some guys can just be assigned to extended spring training and not go on a disabled list, but I could be wrong.

Interesting note about this game...

Reynolds played LF.

It may mean absolutely nothing. It also might mean that his CF D is already showing signs that it won't play in the majors. It might mean they like him enough to consider for immediate depth.

I tend to think it means little to nothing, but it is still noteworthy...

It may also mean that they don't think his bat will play as a regular and want him to have versatility as a 4th outfielder. I doubt they are looking at immediate depth with a single A player. They'd probably bring Angel Pagan back first (after going through Ruggiano, Stubbs and Upton).

I don't think it's anything more but to give Fargas some time in CF and Reynolds some experience in LF.

Now, if it becomes an every night thing...

9 game hit streak to start the season for Arroyo. Kid can hit.

Chris Shaw is white hot, 1.240 OPS in AA. Also has a couple of starts in LF. Too soon to mean anything, but still exciting.

Ryan Howard is off to a great start too. He's Duffy 2.0

Very nice bounce back start from Adon, after he couldn't get out of the 2nd inning in his first start. He's pumping high velocity fastballs out of the rotation.

I like our offense prospects right now. Shaw, Arroyo, Reynolds, Garcia, Slater, Duggar are all AT WIRST journeyman level MLB players, I think.

Our pitching prospect, however, concern me. We have basically not graduated anyone since Bum (Otero and Law are really the only ones). Sure, Osich, Okert, and Blach are all on the cusp, but so was Runzler and Terpin and Heston and Henbree and... Right now, we have Beede and...?

A pessimistic look, sure, but this mantra of "The pitching whisperers" is, I think, as old as "This org has no idea how to developed a hitter"

Second game in a row that Arroyo dropped his BA. Kid is a flash-in-the-pan.
