Heard there was a misplay, and probably should be a double and error. Even so, 3 doubles!

Lots of action in that AZL Game today:

Heliot Ramos led off, Jacob Gonzalez batted 3rd and played 3rd, Aaron Bond batted 5th and played LF (12th rounder), Nico Giarratano batted 9th and played 2nd (24th rounder).

SS Orlando Garcia (15th rounder), C Chris Corrbett (18th rounder), 2B Kyle McPherson (26th rounder), RHP Andy Rohloff (37th rounder), and LHP Seth Corry (3rd rounder) all made their debuts off the bench as well. Expect more tomorrow.

Sacramento River Cats (AAA) (32-48) lost 8-1

The Sacramento River Cats (32-48) got a lift from Chris Shaw against the Fresno Grizzlies (44-38) but couldn't get much else going as they fell 8-1 Saturday night at Raley Field.

Shaw shouldered the offensive load for the River Cats, homering in the fourth inning for the team's only run. The 405-foot blast not only broke up Fresno starter Dean Deetz's shutout, but it also ended his no-hit bid. In his last 10 games, Shaw is hitting .421 (16-for-38) with four home runs, three doubles, and 10 RBI. Activated off the disabled list today, shortstop Christian Arroyo made his first start with Sacramento since June 14 but was forced to exit in the fifth after being hit by a pitch in the left hand.

Starter Tyler Beede toiled to get through 3.2 innings tonight as the right-hander threw 90 pitches (48 strikes) with a career-high six walks. He gave up five runs (four earned) before being relieved by the newest River Cats' bullpen arm, Collin Balester. Tyler Rogers highlighted the relievers tonight with two scoreless innings, surrendering just one hit. Rogers' 33 appearances are second most in the PCL and he will represent Sacramento at this year's Triple-A All-Star game in Tacoma.

I looked at this kids minor league stats, and I don't see anything since 2010. Where has he been? He is already 27, though. Not sure what kind ceiling he has. Org depth?
