The NFL is always thought of as all teams are pretty much the same with the exception a few on the very top and a few on the very bottom. Call that NFL purgatory or what have you...but it's true. *this is not news.
Most teams will finish the season in the 7-9 win range give or take a win.
After 9 games (10 weeks) Take a look at the common record among TEN NFL teams...
4 Wins 5 Losses.
Dolphins
Chiefs
Raiders
Colts
Buccaneers
Bears
Washington
Eagles
Rams
Seahawks
Looking over those teams we can spot some that should/will fall and rise... injuries have and will play a factor going forward... One team on this list actually LEADS their division. Our Bears have BEATEN 3 of these teams.
With the remaining schedule the Bears have a chance to greatly improve.
Broncos- While their defense is scary, the Bears and Adam Gase have just shown they CAN perform against a tough defense. Peyton Manning is now OUT with a foot injury. They will face a QB in his first NFL start and also have the whole Fox playing against his old team thing/coming off back to back wins thing... Hmmm
Green Bay- Thanksgiving night COULD be a thing for Chicago. I know, I know they haven't played well against the pack for a long time, but Rodgers and that offense is showing they ARE actually from this planet and have lost 3 straight. So you're saying there's a chance?
San Fran & Washington- are very capable wins.
Vikings- The Bears should have won the earlier game and will have a chance for revenge.
Bucs & Lions- with the last two weeks of the season I'm counting on one or both of these teams to be packing it in and gearing up for either a coaching change or a final game of a rookie QB.
Can the Bears win 5 of their remaining 7 games? I think it's possible. health both for and against will be a huge factor. You bring Forte and McPhee back... and the DB's are playing great. It's going to be interesting. Go Bears!
