I liken it to MLB. The Yankees are bluebloods, maybe the Red Sox and Dodgers. And they are still bluebloods even when they don't win the World Series.
This is actually kinda what I mean. The Yankees, Red Sox and Dodgers are considered blue bloods while the Cardinals are not. They have only reached the 2nd tier.
The Cardinals are the second most successful team of all time, if there are MLB blue bloods, the Cards are definitely one of them. So are the A's and Giants.
It might as well happened in the 20's and 40's because I have no recollection of it. Lol.
That's right and dont you forget how a team coming off back to back 4-8 seasons manages to find its way to #24 in the preseason to a 5-7 season!!As long as voters justify rating Nebraska because "it's Nebraska" then yes. At least in terms of rankings. On field not as much, we just have to hear about how team X is totally back.
(Not a shot at Nebraska because this could apply to others as well).
I get baseball history, Chewy. I disagree about the A's but the Giants and Cardinals are fringe bluebloods at best. I just don't see them at the same level as the 3 I mentioned, results or not. Hell, the Red Sox didn't win anything for years and they still were considered an blue blood. Blue blood status is more than just winning. That is my point.

Why are the Red Sox blue bloods other then they are coastal? if they are blue bloods then so are the Cardinals, Giants, Braves, Astros maybe even the Cubs (based on the last five years). Just because they play on ESPN every other night does not make them blue bloods. This is actually kinda what I mean. Congrats you beat Mac Jones. What an accomplishment.Sour grapes.
Auburn has won the last 2 out of 3 against Bama and Gus is 3-4 verses Saban. So GTFO with your BS.
I disagree, the Cardinals are blue bloods. If you have won titles and your fans know how to act like they have been their before that in general indicates you might be a blue blood. That applies to the cardinals.

The Cardinals have the best fans on baseball, hands down. I think what the Cardinals lacked, IMO, was that great rivalry, Dodgers-Giants and Yankees-Red Sox. Maybe that's it. IDK. It's just my opinion. But I do place the Cardinals ahead of the Giants. They are 4th on my list. If you want the list to go 4 deep, they are in.
History, Ron. They've been playing the game for nearly 150 years.

when talking about the giants you have to remember their days in Brooklyn. The Red Sox most certainly are not blue bloods, not yet. The only argument that can be made are the Ted Williams days and such.
so have my Reds, doesn’t make them blue bloods.
