Some fanbases have more than others. Usually "the hot" team has the most doushbags because they pick up a few bandwagon jumpers and are usually very young which leads them to act like little fuckin assholes that dont know how to post without sounding like a fucking idiot...

The LAKERS have the best fan base in the NBA.

They probably account for 20% of all the total fans and that is important for the league itself.
The NBA is not some league where fans are spread out evenly.
It is concentrated around the purple and gold.

Without them, the NBA would be in dire straits.
Miami will experience a freefall dropoff in fandom if LBJ leaves, but it would not hurt the league.
If the Lakers fan base ever eroded by even 15%, the whole league would be in jeopardy.

The LAKERS suck now, but they still have an unbelievably strong fanbase vital to the leagues health.
I hate the Lakers, but I am not going to pretend otherwise.

Laker fans seem to have tunnel vision. I have close friends who are Laker fans and they have never been to California or met Kobe Bryant like I have. The only true Laker fan is Jack.

Lakers have the most loyal following of all teams on a global level. They led road attendance records yearly due to one Kobe Bryant. And as Horns said it correctly, as Lakers go so goes the league.

We live in the past, outside of Celtics, because we're a proud franchise and have the rings and cache to prove it. Don't like it too bad. Enjoy the present Heat fans cause the way the cap rules, luxury taxes, etc are set up, you won't have luxury of piling on trophies. Matter of fact no team will including Lakers.
