Is it accurate to say the Heat will "suck" in 2 to 3 years time?

You needed to bump up a dead thread to ask that!

Was it to follow the thread title?

I'm no Amazing Kreskin, but my best guess answer is 'hell no'.

Why would the Heat fall to the level of suck in 3 years?

Am I expecting to be going for a 6 peat? No ( but it would be nice!).

But I'm also not expecting Riley to let his roster become old, slow, and un athletic

I'm not expecting him to wait for Wade to tear an ACL, then wait for him to come back, get re injured and then offer him a 2 year 48M contract.

I'm not expecting him to seek the help of an old, slow, PG and offer him 3 year 27M.

I'm not expecting him to ever hire a coach who feels you don't need to defend.

Your front office did a whole lot of things wrong to become the worst in the West.

The current people there don't have any history of success, do they?

The Heat IMO, right now, are the model organization in the NBA.
Players want to be here, even playing for substantial discounts.
We should be fine.

:laugh3:

The only player to 'take a discount' was Lebron. And once he leaves you'll be back to the bottom again.

It's laughable how you think that back-to-back titles makes Miami the #1 destination for any potential free agents.

"We should be fine"

When you say such very inaccurate things like James is the only current Heat player who sacrificed salary to be here, it shows you are very uneducated on the topic, therefore no reason to debate it with you.

And where did I ever say that "any" FA would see this as the #1 destination?

How about actually sticking to the words used in my post?

Give me a break Turnup, it's what you implied.

"Players want to be here, even playing for substantial discounts."

Who? Michael Beasley? Greg Oden.

Lebron is the only reason you have a grand total of 3 championship banners, and lebron alone. Don't pretend Miami is destined for greatness. As I doubt you're past your teens I suggest you look back at when Jordan and Pippen left Chicago.

So now your inaccurate line becomes my implication?

FACT. All of the Big 3 sacrificed money to unite.
Next, FACT, both Miller and U.D. sacrificed money to play here.
Next, FACT, Allen accepted 3M / year when he was offered twice that from Boston.
FACT, Birdman could have asked for a raise this year, but didn't.
How about Battier? Put him on the list.

The players you named aren't even in the discussion.
Players like that, Lewis, and a few others simply chose the Heat because if everything they currently have to offer.

And also, I'm 52.
Have any players actually left the Heat yet?
You asked a question when the Heat is currently a 2 time champ and starting to play ball right now looking like they want another.

You think James is leaving?
I don't.

Of course he by far the number #1 reason that the Heat are what they are now.
Who ( other then some Laker fans) every said anything different?

that proves bk's point. if someone says lebron james is the goat/the mvp/the best player right now, bringing up the fact the Minneapolis Lakers won 5 titles in 6 years back in the late 40's and early 50's is not relevant.

It's still the Lakers - regardless of what city they were in - the city did not win the championship - the organization did. Fans don't have to live in Los Angeles to be a fan of the Lakers. News flash - The Lakers have been quite relevent since the 1980's, but the Celtics or Heat have not been.

I will admit one thing, Laker fans are MUCH better on here than they were on ESPN. I give props to the ones that stick with their team win or lose. It's just the bandwagon Kobe lovers that piss me off. And Lakerboy.
