After the south Dakota St. game a lot of you were saying you never believed that T-magic was the answer at QB. Well after last night do you believe he is our good choice. He actually threw a couple of good balls and of course his running was WOW. Do you guys believe yet because I did after week one.

This kid is the truth but I still want to see him play against a top defense..The Texas game will be a good test for him.

The UT game will be a great test for Martinez and Nebraska. A yardstick game so to speak.

Passing still needs work........ His stats are greatly inflated by that bomb to reed that was extremely under=thrown.....

We were only 4-9 on 3rd down.....

Martinez is gonna be special...... but I'm still not gonna call him a gay ass name like "t-magic"

UCLA ran for over 300 yards on Texas.......

If our O-line plays to their abilities..... Texas won't be much of a test...

T-Magic is his nickname.. :D

also on the pass to Reed, he may have been focusing on not overthrowing like he did to Niles and knew he had plenty of room to underthrow...

This right here ^^

Martinez doesn't have a long ball. ie..Not an NFL arm..
Hopefully he'll develop that as he matures. He may not need it against the K. States and Washington's of the world but he'll need it against a defense that doesn't have to stack the box to shut down NU's rushing game.

His short to midrange passes and running ability I'm very pleased with and I can see why he's the #1 QB. Hopefully the defense can continue to play well and give him a chance to come along..
Only problem is with Texas (3-2) with a but week, Okla St(4-0), and Mizzou (4-0) looming the schedule gets tougher before it gets any easier.

That wasn't his first underthrown long ball in a game. He did the same against SDSU.
The rcvr down the side line (McNeill?) had to stop and wait for the ball to get there. Good thing they were wide open.

still might be a better passer than Lee though, he did that on 5 yard throws...

Yeah, Lee threw those quick, over the middle routes behind, to far in front, to low or to high. It's a tough pass because you have to hit a moving target quickly, but come on you're practicing it daily.

I like the way Martinez throws that route. He's on spot, in stride..

Cody Green is the one with the NFL arm for deep balls..

No, I do not believe in magic..................but I do believe in illusions.

Taylor Martinez creates many illusions on the field. He is so good at selling the zone-read that a defender standing 5 yards away can't even tell where the ball is going.

Another illusion he creates is his speed. His strides are so long that it's hard to tell he's moving as fast as he is..........defenders try to take an angle on him and then they realize it's the wrong angle because he creates this illusion with his strides.

It's unlike anything I've seen in a long time..........he just doesn't look like he's moving that fast, but when you look at his 5 yard strides and how he's pulling away from DBs, you can definitely tell.

The best example by far from last night was the 80 yard run..........he saw a big hole straight up the middle of the field, but let's be honest........99.9% of all college athletes are not getting through that hole untouched and taking it to the house.

Go Big Red!

I got bored with the lack of posters.... but knew there was a lot of lurkers.... so i trolled the board with a post questioing if the dislike of cody green at #2 was because of the color of his skin.....

it worked, cuz the board has been much busier since....

sucks that I would have to stoop to such a level... but i can only handle so many days of there only being 5 posters on here (jjm,me,pops,ra,corntrain)

what i learned about our boy ex is a lil disturbing
