Stance: Goofy
Bettman lights it on fire and Jacobs dances around it in a leather loin cloth.
Well, there's a mental image I could have gone forever without having. Thanks for that.

As we just discussed on Sportscentre. NHL advised PA it will absorb share of Make Whole provision. This is a considerable concession.
which of course leads to a pissing contest with Walsh over whether it really IS news (supposedly was offered on Tuesday?)
or just a distraction from the World Classic cancellation.
someone either rent them a barn, or a room.

@Real_ESPNLeBrun Bill Daly and Steve Fehr are meeting Saturday in undisclosed location to resume bargaining talks
Let me step on it, Owners are going to offer to fund part of the "make it whole" for two years but want the 50/50 with no auto raises and most of the other take backs (with some wiggle room). the Fehrs are are looking at this meeting as a step to restart talks. In other words if the players are not guaranteed full unlinked pay they are not going to even talk. They have already heard what the league is going to offer and are only meeting because a section of the players want something done and are getting worried.
I don't have a link, this is just me making stuff up based on reading tons of tweets, articles, jokes and blogs.
In an unrelated note my wife just made cookies with chocolate chips and candied bacon. I dont know how she made the bacon candied (brown sugar?) but it is good. Now she is making pineapple and coconut ice cream.
Almost enough to make one forget about hockey for the day
this meeting has been going on for about 7 hours by my estimation.
these marathon sessions should have began months ago
What
the
fuck???????
How is seven hours a marathon session? These two sides, and specifically Fehr and Bettman, should be meeting for 7 hours every (business) day.
I work 10 hours each day. To me a marathon session is 16+ hours. THIS is the kind of hours these guys need to be spending to get this thing worked out.
Steve Fehr of #NHLPA: "I agree with what Bill said. Hopefully we can continue the dialogue, expand the group, and make steady progress."
I think the players are cracking and fast.
Hearing that the NHL has agreed (informally) to take a portion or all of the 'make whole' provision, if the players accept a 50/50 split. This seems like a big move towards compromise, any word on the exact details?
