Does anybody else think that if Bettman were to resign, the players might actually agree to sign off on a new CBA? Not that I think Daly is much better than Bettman, but I really think the players are so pissed at Bettman that they're actually willing to forfeit another entire season in the hopes that Bettman will step down.

I thought I'd remembered that happening before.

I also thought that the Hockey Hall of Fame retained ownership of the Cup, not the NHL. As such, I have emailed the HHoF for clarification.

If it indeed turns out that the league is not automatically entitled to stop the presentation of the cup to someone other than an NHL entity, you can bet there's gonna be some grassroots shit going down. Rory Fitzpatrick level shit.

If Bettman resigned and it was decided that Daly wasn't automatically next, I'd commit to 10 years of season tickets and NHL Center Ice. RIGHT NOW.

Nope unless the owners still get everything. Bettman is just a symbol. Ok more than that but the next guy would be no better. The owners might even go back on progress already made.

What a crock of shit. He wants a moratorium from any and all discussion for two weeks?!?

I suppose this will give him more time to make a new list of reasons why he and ownership will continue to shoot down any and all appeals the PA sends their way.
