I can say its a trend because of a 5 game sample, but this team appears to have no killer instinct. A contender should shred bad pitching, but they usually shut us down. You can give the Astros starters and Estrada credit if you want, but I think it's more us than them. In addition, what's the deal with this team playing poorly at home? The rangers usually win 50 games a year at home....

Stop posting and sit on your hands until football season. Then meander on over to the cowboys board.

Well it's probably a good thing because the playoffs have way better pitching.

We need to observe the Astros starting pitching the next two nights to see another 'trend.' Meaning Lyles kept the A's batters to one run in 7 innings. Then the A's started doing what we did against the Stros BP....but "Lo" and behold they got 3 outs before giving it up.

I have to give credit to the Astros offense. Five runs against Bartolo Colon.

You have a point.... The Astros got 4 off garza. Which shouldn't be easy to do

So what do you use to evaluate pitching? In the Stros series their starters were pretty solid, aside from the game Bo Porter left Kuechel in too long. It wasn't until Dallas was over 100 pitches that we got to him. Astros played Boston tough the week before. The Stros BP hasn't faired well but you can't really say we should shred their starting pitching as it has been pretty good

Bedard, oberholtzer, and keuchel did pretty good. I think we " got ourselves out" against Estrada and peacock.

You can look at our team vs those pitchers and our times facing them and the pitchers had the advantage. We will fair much better going forward.

Sorry guys..... As of now... Offense has struggled against Bedard, Peacock, Keuchel, Oberholtzer, Estrada, Thornburg, and Iwakuma. Just updating the list lol..... I'll quit tracking it when they get 3 runs off a starter. I promise!

Huh? They don't have a starting pitcher with an ERA under like 5.00. Actually Bedard is around 4.5

I watched all the games vs the Astros and their starters pitched well in the series aside from one game, was all I was saying

JD is on the record this week stating that scoring 4 runs and relying on our pitching to keep us in the game is the team the Rangers will be for the remainder of the season. We have proved over the past two weeks we can do that more so than not. Last night was a "not" night.

Wash could have won that game last night. It's obvious he did not know how. Why do the players have to pay for his lack of knowledge for the game. Oh, pardon me. Forgot he is a great club house manager.

I won't question a baseball manager's lack of knowledge of the game. He made decisions last night I didn't agree with. That said I won't give the players a free pass either. Even if Wash made moves that pleased everyone there certainly was never any guarantee they would have won. It's not a good loss but there's another game today and another one tomorrow. There is lots of baseball to be played.

That's really not the point. The managers job is to put the team in the best position to win. He fails to FO that far too often, and every night he insists on having Murphy in the lineup.
