He kinda stood there for a second as though he was wondering if anyone was going to come after him.
And when Carkner arrived on the scene, that puck couldn't leave his stick fast enough. A couple of seconds later, it's in the back of the Leafs net.
Fortunately Tavares is okay. How the officiating crew missed the call is beyond me. The next time the two teams meet Phaneuf better get his ass kicked.
Your team now has Matt Carkner. Unless the coach puts him on a very short leash, Carks will settle it.
Matt Carkner is a pure enforcer. He won't bat an eyelash at the prospect of 5, 10, a game and a suspension to protect the stars on his team. He knows his role to a T.
I just hope Capuano doesn't reel Carkner in; I'd love to see Phaneuf on a liquid diet for 6 weeks. That was a cheap shot.
I don't think anything was settled. There wasn't a legit fight. It was funny how easily Phaneuf gave up the puck though.
LIKE I SAID HIS OWN GOALIE SHOULD HAVE PUNCHED HIM IN THE FACE AFTER THAT!
Your team's captain just rocked the star player of the other team and that's the reaction you have Toronto fans?
Reimer should have gone after him more than the isles after that play
