You can be anything
Might be a slight chance but it's a chance. Lets just put it this way 4 teams in the east have a chance to go to the finals. And 6 teams in the west have a chance to go
Slight chance is the opposite of crap shoot. But technically anybody in the playoffs can win, history and the rules of the playoffs would strongly suggest this is improbable to the point of being impossible.
After that post I went back a little further to 1974. (That is when wikipedia stops remembering playoff seeds?)
Since 1974, or the last 40 NBA Finals, or 80 teams worth of data. 1 Team less than a 3 seed has won the finals. 1. ONE. 1.25% a team lower than a 3 seed has won the NBA finals.
If you are seeded less than a 3 seed your percentage representation of just MAKING the finals is 7.5%.
One more for the road. If you are seeded 5 or lower you have MADE the NBA finals 3.75%.
and just because it is funny:

They will be slightly better but Miami got better and so did Brooklyn and Chicago. The Knicks are the only team who can challenge them who did not really get better.
Miami only got better if Wade stays healthy most likely through rest. If that doesn't happen then you could say because they did not take advantage of a learning experience they have actually became dumber. Let's hope Wade plays 12 minutes a game until the playoffs

Hmm so the mavericks went to the finals back to back times then?
Wrong thread? and wrong info.
