If he played for USC same opinion. Im a numbers guy
:stephena:

If you're a numbers guy you're making this way too hard. He got more yards in two extra games. The record is his. Things change, seasons in all sports have expanded over time. They don't throw out records and start over everytime they add a game.

Barry Sanders' 1988 game-by-game rushing stats

Well we know he had 5 TD's which brings his total TD's to 44.
He was 1-2 passing for 17 yards in the Holiday Bowl.
Rushed 29 times for 222.
Didnt have any receiving yards.
It said his total return yards was still 515 so that means he didnt do special teams in the bowl game.

So that means he had 2,867 yards and 44 TD's
2867 rushing thats not total yards tho which is what the record is

Pu the numbers together it took two extra games and the numbers aren't even close. Had he broke the record in 11 games it would be different. But it took the 2 extra games which is a major difference. I like facts

I see 2 of the top 3 defenses McCaffrey faced completely shut him down.
This is about the record. Everything doesn't have to revolve around Henry man...

Barry Sanders is the greatest running back of all time. At any damn level. People with a brain know he had the better overall year. Yeah, it's McCaffery's record now, but that doesn't make it a better season. This is like trying to argue that Drew Brees' had a better record breaking season than Dan Marino.

I fixed it. My bad, look back at my original post. It was actually 2850 rushing and I added the other yards.
This is why I'm really not able to say the record was legitimately broken. IMO its still Barrys record

Yes. He broke the record. But, he needed more games. Most records being set in this era are being set for the same reason. It's not as impressive as Barry Sanders' record. But, it's a record. Records are based on per season, not averaged per 11 game seasons or whatever.

orry man, I just got a bad feeling that Henry is going to robbed of the Heisman Saturday. Watson,Mayfield,Henry, and Dalvin Cook are all more deservingthan McCaffrey.
