Good point, Bama has only beaten one SEC team with a record over .500, so far this season.

.....and counting that win, they only beat TWO teams all season that currently have a winning record.

....the other being So. Miss.

Not saying Bama isn't good. That would be silly. Of course they are good. They may in fact be the best team in the Nation....but they haven't been tested yet to really know have they?

As to the question of the thread....

LSU needs to beat Bama. Period. End of story.

If we can't beat Bama we have no business worrying about the playoffs.

I agree with you in general, but would argue Alabama HAS been tested. Having to play the second half against UT as well as the game against Arky with a backup QB with minimal experience is a test. Especially considering the question marks surrounding the running game and defense.

As good as LSU is, how would they handle losing Burrow for a game and a half even against lower-tier SEC teams? Would the rest of the team be able to to step up and win big? Maybe. Just like maybe Alabama would’ve won against better opponents had they faced them.

Beyond that, does any of it matter? When we play LSU the rankings and resumes will be meaningless. And FWIW, I have had LSU ranked above us all season.

SEC refs decide who wins and loses based on when they chose to call holding.

No NO NO!! That would not be fair to Bama to beat LSU and then have to play them again. NOT FAIR AT ALL!!
That’s setting up to be the game of the century, AGAIN. Although I think this time around it’s safe to say it’s not going to be 9-6 :suds:

The scary part of the 9-6 (and 21-0) game is the amount of OFFENSIVE talent that went on to the NFL from both teams. Those 2 offenses averaged 40 ppg when playing everyone else.

I can’t remember the exact year but it may have been the year we won the CFP that Ohio State only had 1 holding call all season during B1G play :pound:

The dearth of holding penalties AGAINST us said a lot, especially when we sent our entire front 7 to the NFL several years.

If that were the case Bama wouldn’t have won an SEC game since 08.
You kidding? As one of the least penalized teams in the SEC, Bama is loved by the refs and those putting money in pockets.

And now they successfully navigated a 1 vs 2 matchup in two weeks. Plan executed to perfection.

You’re using your perceptions. Fact is, we have been among the most penalized SEC teams over the last few seasons, and our opponents have been among the LEAST penalized out there. Beyond that, you’re just full of shit with your conspiracy theories.

But yes, just saw highlights of Mack Jones today and fits the system great. Hope Tua has a chance to return but having had that little surgery just makes it hard to be confident he’ll be ready to go.
This injury isn't as bad as the one he sustained last year
