Gabby Sanchez, Freddie Freeman, Mike Morse (if he plays 1B), maybe Paul Goldschmidt

But if Helton and Huff pull Helton's and Huff's, Huff will be a top 1Bmen and Helton will be a washed up vet.

isnt Morse going to be in the outfield for Laroche?

Freemans played one year. but i did think about putting him ahead of Huff.

Sanchez is a close call. i see where you're coming from with him though.

Obviously it depends on if we get even-year Huff or odd-year Huff. If even-year, he's top 5 for sure. Top 4 really.

It is 100% dependent on if we get even-Huff or odd-Huff. The competition does not matter.

If he repeats 2011, than he may not finish the season on the roster. If he repeats 2010, he is obviously an MVP candidate.

Yeah. Huff is more like Top 8, and I think Helton is done. I expect more from the youngins. Based on personal 2012 expectations, I would go:

1. Votto
2. Howard
3. Morse (I don't think he is a corner outfielder)
4. Berkman
5. Freeman
6. Sanchez
7. Loney
8. Huff
9. Goldschmidt
10. Jones (see Morse)
11. Helton

ike davis ???

I put Ike Davis in front of Huff.

If I am talking pure offense, there are plenty of players I take before I take Huff:

1. Votto
2. Morse
3. Freeman
4. Yonder Alonso
5. Ike Davis
6. Ryan Howard
7. Carlos Lee

I moved Howard so far down the list because of his injury. Everyone keeps saying the guy is going to be back some time in May, but that's only if everything goes totally to plan. Remember that Howard is not a spring chicken any more and he was never the greatest physical specimen to begin with. I think he comes back in LATE May and doesn't really get into his groove until the end of June. That gives him only 3 full months to mash.

Oh, and for those of you thinking that Alonso has no place on that list, think again. That guy can mash. Period.

Yup. I think his best baseball is still in front of him. Huff's... not so much. It doesn't matter too much at first base, but he is a far better fielder (which I was taking into account, despite Helton's low ranking). I was also taking line-ups into account. They're in fairly similar situations there, depending on which Kemp, Ethier, Posey and Pandoval show up next season, so maybe a tie for ninth now. Either way, Top 5 is a pipe dream... much like his 2010 season. Coincidence? :happyshake:

I don't think either of them crack my Top 20 MLB first basemen. What a difference a year makes. Especially, when he won't stop trying to pull outside pitches.
