On ESPN? I've been busy all day and just finally saw it right now. He more or less said Pelini is a piece of shit. He said if his coach would have yelled at him like Pelini yelled at Taylor he would have punched him in the face.

I guess I don't understand what the hell is going on here??? I thought people were more upset with Bo yelling at the officials and at the end of the game when they had to hold him back and all that jazz.........but everyone's gettin all crazy over him yellin at Taylor??? WTF??? I had coaches in high school who did that all the time. I had a coach shove me in basketball practice and tell me I was a worthless piece of garbage when I turned the ball over and that nobody in my family ever made it in sports and neither would I.

To be fair to Desmond, he said that if it would have been any other coach but his head coach he would have slapped the taste out of his mouth with the back of his hand. He did not say head coach. The thing is that that is a 40 year old saying that now. There is not a chance in hell Bo Schembechler would have allowed one of his players to touch one of his coaches. So he didn't say that Taylor should have hit Pelini.

Jesse Palmer came on after that and said he didn't have a problem with it. Considering the lashings he would get from Spurrier you would expect him to feel that way.

I didn't see Jesse come on afterward, but I agree with him. Maybe I'm different than everyone else or somethin, I don't know. It was always such a motivation booster when my coach would do that to me. Man I remember havin my facemask grabbed and ripped around 'til my neck was sore. Some of the meanest bastards I've ever met in my life were my coaches in high school, but I loved that hard-nosed attitude they brought, because come game time it always felt like that rubbed off on us and we were by far the more intimidating team.

I honestly just didn't like the way Desmond Howard talked about it. I never get pissed about analysts or announcers on tv who seem to dislike Nebraska or whatever........for the most part I think that is all false. But when Desmond Howard talked about Bo it just seemed like he seriously has a hatred for Nebraska.....or maybe it's just Bo that he hates I don't know. He called his ass chewing "venomous" for shit sake.

you have to remember that chances are high that desmond grew up poor and had things handed to him
then he was good in sports in football so the school took care of him
and you REALLY think michigan wasn't cheating back in the day, and giving him hand outs?
we know the basketball team cheated........

then you have small town nebraska guys who grew up working hard, then worked hard through school, got yelled at by coaches
worked their way through school playing small time college ball

Yea maybe it is just the fact that we grew up here in Nebraska, I don't know.......I love it when coaches do what Pelini did to Martinez the other night, and it has nothing to do with the fact that it is our team. I just plain love seeing any coach from any team do that.
