I believe this is truly what was going on. I think his words probably got twisted a little bit to make it seem like he was taking a shot at the Patriots. He was asked about the offense and he was right in saying, "we can do anything we want." Because they actually have proven they can so far. But if the Pats want to use it as Bulletin Board material then so be it and use it!

To me if you need bulletin board material to get up for the Super Bowl then probably not the best thing in the world. The game itself should be plenty.

If there was ever a team that didn't need Bulletin Board material it would be the Patriots.

Fair enough...I was rooting for Car last yr...but good to see PM go out the way he did...

I've always lived by the thought that if my team can't win it I would rather have a team/fan base that gets their first Super Bowl. I still remember the first one for the Broncos and just the pure bliss of that moment.

Haha true. They have plenty from other places other than the Falcons.

this is very true. Quiet Honestly I don't think anyone on the team took what he said to heart at all or to make it out to what we are trying to make it sound like.

Honestly I'm not sure how much these guys take as big time bulletin board material. I do know last year one of the Panther's coaches words to his team got out of him saying that CJ Anderson was a trash running back that didn't deserve to be on the field and wouldn't do anything against them. I know Anderson talked about how that really got him all the more amped to go and make sure those Carolina Coaches never forgot his name again. That is a bit different though when someone calls you a trash player compared to what we see from Freeman here.

Yes, that is different as Freeman really only was saying how good the Falcons offense has been. He was saying the Patriots were trash

As I pointed out earlier, on 5 occasions this year they could not "do what they want."

Why is Sunday going to be such a slam dunk?

Exactly...It would be much more shocking for a player not to hype up his team. The Falcons believe in themselves and why not they did just produce one of the best offenses in NFL history. They have plenty of reason to be confident in their abilities. Mostly what I have read this week is both teams have a lot of respect for each other.

Well the offense was only held to under 20 points once this entire season. So of those 5 occasions it wasn't really just on the offense for why they lost the game. 2 of the 5 losses they still scored 28 or more points. That is where I would put things on the defense.

If you lose a game, you didn't "do what you want" to the other team.

So when the Broncos beat the Cowboys 51-48 did the Cowboys offense not do what they wanted to do to the Broncos defense?

I'm guessing that they wanted to do one more thing than they did.

Every team can say that even in a win. Not a fan of the oversimplification of winning and losing being the only thing that matters. Last year the Broncos winning the Super Bowl doesn't completely cover up how terrible their offense was. That is just calling a spade a spade of saying they were terrible but thankfully the team had a great defense to overcome that weakness. For the Falcons while yes the offense wasn't lights out every week this season they are the biggest reason this team is in the Super Bowl. And in some of their losses I would not put the blame on the offense of why they lost. Other things were a much bigger contributor to the loss. Could the offense have done more? Of course it could. They didn't score a touchdown on every drive so there is always more they could do but no team scored a touchdown on every drive this year so that is unrealistic expectations.

If this is true....................why is it that the Atlanta Falcons are not Undefeated?

Jeezuzz......Freeman says that they can do what they want and now Julio Jones says that nobody in the NFL can cover him man to man.

Put Van Noy on him at the line of scrimmage and knock the shit out of him before he gets 5 yards. I guarantee he'll be sitting at the end of the bench by the 4th quarter with a boo boo.

Why aren't the Pats undefeated? Teams can be highly talented and that doesn't mean they can't have a bad day or bounces go the wrong way. Some of it could be the getting used to different players that have been added to the team. Some of it could be injuries such as Julio has been hurt for part of the year or Telvin Coleman missing like half the season and so on. Some teams are just bad match ups for others. Heck couple of weeks ago most everybody knew the Pats were going to roll the Steelers in part because of the style of defense they play not being a good match up to try and stop the Pats.

Earlier in the season the Seahawks were not a great match up for the Pats. A scrambling QB can give them some issues. Wilson is also the only top-10 QB the Pats defense has faced this entire season and that is the game they struggled the most. At this point there are just so many factors that play into a game like this that getting after players for being confident in their team is just message board talk. I don't think they meant any disrespect by it at all just that they like their chances against anyone and they should. Taht doesn't mean they will have success but I would be more worried if they were saying "man we stand no chance against the Patriots."

I disagree. Atlanta is 29th in the NFL in 3rd downs made. They cannot sustain a drive. Big plays or nothing!
