Besides Greene and maybe Alex Wilson, are there any MLB-worthy pitchers on the current Tigers roster? Don't think so.

That's why I am worried that the Tigers may not be able to come up with three more wins this season.

CF - Mahtook

DH- Hicks and a host of others :)

So this is the lineup Detroit goes with into the off season. '27 Yankees?

Reports are that the Tigers will exercise Kinsler's $10M option, with an eye on trading him. The contract buyout is $5M, so it makes sense to throw in $5M more and possibly get something in return instead of him becoming an outright FA. Not sure what they'd get for a guy hitting .234 and turning 36 next June. He does have 18 bombs, still runs fast, and has a good shot at a second consecutive Gold Glove this year. He currently leads all qualified second basemen with a +9.3 UZR and +8 Defensive Runs Saved.

Actually, the option on Kinsler could be as much as $12M. He gets an additional $1M if he reaches 600 plate appearances (he's currently at 556), and $1M more if he wins a Gold Glove.

There won't be much in season return if he doesn't make better contact next year.

.234 .309 won't get an upgrade for Buck Farmer.

Also will hurt his chances for a GG. Which makes no sense, but it is what it is.

Well, hey... a great start from Anibal and a walk-off win. Magic number is 2 (wins to avoid 100 losses).

I could understand the Illitch family unloading something that was, admittedly, dad's pet project. But as long as the team remains in Detroit - and isn't bought by the owner of Papa Johns Pizza - it will be fine with me.
PAPA JOHN. People in the know say Eric Trump is interested. Very interesting.

John Hicks batting cleanup and the DH. I wonder if he did that at Toledo?

Tigers trying to stay out of cellar. LOL. Right now, they have the 4th draft pick....aiming for#3????

He hit cleanup three times in Toledo.

He was the DH 8 times. (14 as a catcher and 24 as a first baseman. Best production as a catcher. And when hitting 7th.)

Might be a boost for Boyd's confidence, complete game shutout doesn't hurt.

And frankly, that pitch was fine, just a solid piece of hitting....though as soon as I saw the ball going to RF I said, oh shit....I haven't watched much of Castellanos in the outfield, but I fully expect him to suck out there.

Horrible in left. No reason to expect otherwise in right.

I'd rather they realize Boyd is a reliever. Starts like his last two don't help speed up that process.
