This franchise is heading for some bad years in the next few years. They have aging veterans they can't move unless they eat massive amounts of money, a worthless AAA team, and exactly ONE prospect that is ranked in the top 100 of most lists....and he is injured and has only pitched one game this year.
They can't add high priced free agents and they don't have good young prospects arriving. Looks like several high priced and aging veterans (Miggy, Verlander, VMart, Upton, Zimmermann) will be surrounded by whatever low priced riff-raff the team can grab and some AAA players.

I want him gone just as bad if not more than Asstomouth but realistically, they won't fire him until after the trade deadline if this year at all.

This will be the first big test for the "new" ownership. Realistically, there is little they can do but some cosmetic moves...at least for the present. Fire Ausmus, trade JD, maybe one or two others. My guess is that they tread water until the off season and then clean house....on field and off. Just my opinion. I'd prefer the "rip off the bandage real quick" right now....but holding off til winter is probably better.

Kinsler....is he really much of a trade chip? Not having a great year. 2B is not a position of great need for a lot of teams and Kinsler would not be a long term answer for any team. If a team does obtain him...and he bombs....they will owe him $5mil on a buyout or pick up a $12mil option. Not saying Tigers need to keep him, but I don't think the return they'll get will be that great.

If making out the batting order is the biggest job a manager has.....you should grab a fan out of the stands each game to be the manager - and save money. Or better yet....let fans vote before each game!!!!

As far as I am concerned, a MLB team could go with two base coaches and a pitching coach.....and some old, former player (at least 65 years old) sitting on the bench that the players call "Pops". Let these millionaires manage themselves....if they are undecided on a situation - ask "Pops".

Bill Freehan, Willie, Al Kaline would be good "Pops". Is Tom Brookens 65?
