I can still hear him trying to say Gary DiSarcina.We used to store all those Kell-isms in our heads and regurgitate them at lunchtime in school. Like, "He broke the bat half in two!"
Ernie, George, and to a lesser degree Al, were from an era where commentators did not over-analyze things. They did not have an enormous amount of stats at their fingertips. Listening to them was listening to your dad, uncle, or grandad talk about the game. Folksy
