I think V-mart led the league in BA with RISP in 2014. I doubt a .300 average would be "empty", in his case.

Its hard for a #4 hitter to bat an empty .300... If there are ducks on the pond he can slap singles all day and get rbi... Iglesias batted .300 out of the bottom of the order... That tends to lead to less rbi or runs scored... Iffy is just trolling with references to "empty" .300 ba.

plus... With jd martinez batting 5th... Vmart getting on base with a single isn't empty at all... Regardless... I don't think it's going to be an issue this year as vmarts knee appears to be much stronger.

VMart's knees could go at any time. It is not a rumor that the Tigers are installing a plexiglass barrier along the first base line to protect fans in the event that VMart's knee explodes running to first. It would be an awful scene to see some young child with VMart's patella embedded in his forehead. Or a fan injured by a flying ligament to the eye. We can only hope the explosion does not occur as Victor rounds first where there are an unprotected firstbaseman, firstbase coach, and umpire.

Tigers' Jose Iglesias: Focused on being better teammate
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jose Iglesias, who wasn't considered the best teammate despite an All-Star season in 2015, spent the offseason mulling his approach and he says he'll stop chasing personal stats this season and focus on a team-first attitude, reports MLive.com.

That's great for Iglesias and the Detroit Tigers, and not so great for fantasy owners. Iglesias hit .300, but was more concerned about his own stats than doing whatever it took for his team to win. It culminated in an August shoving match with catcher James McCann in the dugout. He promises to change: "A year is a long time to look at yourself in the mirror and say, 'I did this for myself, or I can do more for my team,' " Iglesias said. "At the end of the day, it's not about you. It's about winning."

Vice....the stalker. Follows me around and puts a "dislike" or "bullshit" on every post I make. LOL. Adult like behavior, huh? But, seeing as how I mean so much to him, I guess it is OK. He has to do something with his day.

Post something that isn't bullshit and you won't get negative ratings.

Glad to see that the threat of McCann's foot up his ass got him to thinking. It was an obvious thing that Iglesias' .300 avg did not produced a lot of runs. I was even surprised with his base running - 11 out of 19 attempts stealing 2nd....thought it was better. Of course, there is a fine line for a good fielding SS. An average near .300 gets you All-Star status, even if it is an empty .300. However a solid .250 starts putting a slick fielder into that "good field/no hit" area. But it would be nice to see the sacrifices go upward from the 4 he totaled last year.

Could you get one of the moderators to come to this thread and make the statement that YOU are in charge here? If you are...I missed the memo. Did anyone else see the memo that put Vice in charge of this thread? If you can give me an approximate date....I can go back and look it up. Thanks in advance.

My apologies....was the decision to put Vice in charge made at one of the secret meetings he holds on another site? You know...like the ones he held with Dr. Phil? The ones where he would make secret plans to destroy the CBS sports boards? You guys know about that right? Were any of you members of that secret club?

He batted near the bottom of the order and hit a lot of infield singles. Still, he is in the lineup for defense first. Getting on base when the lineup rolls over to Kinsler, Upton, Miggy is a bonus.

I agree, Iglesias is fast, but not a particularly good or smart baserunner.

Why do you not post that link about machado you claim to have showing he was below average defensively in AAA last year?
