Lowe is forcing the Tigers into making some sort of decision on him. He is failing in mop up duty.

What other decision could there be? It's 64 games into the season ... enough of a sample to know he can't get MLB hitters out.

19 runs scored in each game of the series so far. And Pelfrey tomorrow .... probably will be 2-1 or something.

Tigers will win or lose with Miggy, Kinsler, Iggy, Casty, Upton, Maybin, JD, VMart, and a catcher. The other three guys will just try not to lose more than 2 or 3 games. Like Howie said....pitching needs to be built up. The day to day lineup is set.

In his last seven starts, Justin Verlander is 4-2 with a 1.93 ERA.

Jose Iglesias has had a solid month of June. The Tigers shortstop has hit safely in all 13 games in which he's played this month, and he's walked eight times during that stretch. Wednesday night, he hit a two-run, opposite-field home run off White Sox ace Chris Sale.

Danny Duffy has a 2-1 record and 2.45 ERA this month. He is making his seventh start after beginning the season in the bullpen. He has pitched against the Tigers twice this season out of the bullpen, allowing three earned runs the first time but shutting them down in the ninth inning the second time.

Why is Moya not here?

Why is Moya not here?

I'm guessing that Detroit has determined that Moya is too much of a one dimensional ballplayer to be of much help to the current club. Simply put...he is a DH who can play LF - poorly. Not the kind of guy you want on your bench on an American League team. Now if your DH or corner outfielder goes on the DL, he might be worth a two week gamble. But as a once a week starter, I'd rather wait for JaCoby Jones to develop and give the team a player that can play a couple of positions, at least somewhat, decently. 66 big league ABs for Moya and 0 homers and he has struck out in 1/3 of those ABs.

Not sure I understand? The problem with Moya is that he would not be a good part-time player. Detroit only carries 12 position players. Of the three ''extras'' one is a catcher. If you put defensively restricted Moya as one of those three guys...all you have left to cover every other position would be Romine or Aviles (whichever you kept). Now if you want to cut back on relief pitchers....I could see adding Moya as a 4th 'extra'.

Well if JD is hurt and Maybin hurting...this could give Moya another chance. I would think he won't get many more with Detroit.....he better make it a good one.
