Agreed, somebody should know, and I'm afraid Ausmus doesn't know.....That's scary.

It's like Ausmus is worried about F-Rod's pride or something. He needs to worry about winning games. Period.

Trying not to be defensive.....

Who would you guys want to be up in the pen in that situation? (Keep in mind, this was the most I've seen of any game. Might have doubled my innings intake for the season tonight.)

It's PR bullshit.....Ausmus can now say he never lost faith or confidence in Rodriguez and that's suppose to build up Rodriguez?

That's pure bullshit......Rodriguez knows that was shit, and probably knows his arm is a rag doll.....So Ausmus is going to play this bullshit game with reporters till July and the trading deadline.....

The fans know better......Send his ass to Toledo.....Let him rest his arm for two months and then see what he has in June.

I think J-Wilson is the best guy we have in the bullpen. That said, I like him so much in setup, I'd hate to change his role. But F-Rod should be on very thin ice. And Ausmus should not worry about having someone else warmed up in the 9th at the first sign of trouble, especially with a 3-run lead. F---- that "showing up your closer" shit. F-Rod is a veteran player. He can take it.

Both Wilsons have looked better....Promote both and send F-Rod to 7th inning duty, regardless of how much money he makes or pride it takes.

Appreciate the feedback fellas.

Glad Alex got a little time at closer last year, in case it comes to that. Wish he woulda got a bit more tbh, but it is what it is.

On the brightside, Frankie has to be out of commission for tomorrow. That was a long inning. With plenty of stress pitches.

Closers. Rumor has it that Jose Valverde has spent all of the $33 million the Tigers payed him for 4 years. (Only about half of that, was he worth more than $1). One time "Closer of the Future", Bruce Rondon, is recovering from a pulled calf muscle caused by a strenuous walk to the bank to cash a major league check at a Toledo bank.

My suggestion. Put Papa Grande, Papa Super Size, and Francicso "Mr 88" Rodriguez on the Toledo roster and use them as rotating closers. The winner gets a trip to Detroit to be the mop up man in the bullpen.*

*Unless beaten out by Michael Crotta. 31 year old, pitched in Japan the last two years. Played with Pirates in 2011...only time in big league. Current stats: 4 G/4 IP/0 H/4 K/1BB/ERA 0.00

I would really like to know all the names in the organization that were responsible for bringing Pelfrey to Detroit......WTF? Wasn't there anyone in management with balls that said "Ha-Ha your kidding right, Pelfrey?"

If you are going to spend money you don't do it on a scrub like Pelfrey.

Until the Tigers decide to build a minor league system (read: after old Mike passes on), we will have to get use to seeing this team pick up lower level FA....and overpay them in doing so.

Maybe the Tigers will have a 9th inning miracle and win the game. Oh yeah, I forgot that that only happens with the teams that the Tigers are playing
