On Davis, what has impressed me is his ability to hit for average. I heard Buck talking about how hes showing more discipline at the plate. Not sure if thats all there is too it. But hes always had power. The RBI are going to keep coming for him in that lineup. Especially if my boy Brian Roberts can stay healthy for a month. But the sudden spike, in everything, definitely is suspicious. (Brady Anderson definitely) if its a contract season for him, I wouldn't blame if he is juicing. Melky Cabrera style....

Ya, but those Pixie Dogs are cheap and good.......Can't get that crap in Cleveland........The best thing the whole state has to offer is Cedar Point but for some reason doesn't want to brag about it.

actually Muzz I prefer Kings island way over cedar point. But thats just me. As far as the all star game 5 of the six tigers were either players or fans vote, so it isn't a JL thng. Rays fans mad that he took JV over matt Moore. two things here. First all managers (Washington last season with Holland I believe) take their own guy with that last player and second after last weekends brushback of Miggy there was no way ever that JL can take a Ray over JV or Sanchez and keep the respect of the players in the clubhouse. It was never going to happen. Sanchez with one of only 2 starters in the AL with ERA under 3 has a bigger complaint. JV and moore have ERA's about the same.

He was left with seven spots, and three of them had to go to a Ray, an Astro and an Indian. He took one Ray (Ben Zobrist), one Astro (Jason Castro) and two Indians (Justin Masterson and Jason Kipnis). He gave the other three spots to Verlander, Chris Sale and Brett Cecil.

It really is Politics when you get to the bottom of it.....He had to take a Devil Ray......So Ben Zobrist is selected. The guy he instructed Porcello to hit.

I can't prove JL told him to do it, but good chance that's the way it went down......Will Zobrist see the field on All Star weekend? No Idea. But maybe he's just making amends.

as far ass all star rosters go. If you aren't voted in by the fans or the players and have to rely on being one of the lone teams all star or the last couple picks by the manager then you aren't really an all star. So everyone can stop their whining. How many times did Joe Torre select every Yankee he could. Sorry that JL isn't kissing the ass of the Al East.

Zobrist isn't a All Star, but JL by rules had to select someone from that team. I found it funny it was Zobrist. We just beaned the guy in retalliation of the ball high to the head of Miggy......I just found it politically correct or B.S.

We will find out soon enough what the thought process was. Will JL let Zobrist play or was it simply eye for eye tooth for tooth.....

I like Masterson. I'm not advocating anything other then he chucks strikes.. I like guys like that. I hate guys that nibble at the corners only to get pounded deep.

After pitching 30 pitches and have 1 out to show for it and people complain about Innings pitched......Just chuck a strike and the Pitch count won't grow.


Even Rogers drove me nuts......He was our Anchor no doubt. But it was always just a matter of time with that 88 mph fastball........

I like Ricky just fine at 5, but would take Masterson in a heartbeat.

Probably not, maybe, not sure........In all reality, Smyly can out pitch all of them, but apparently being a relief pitcher doesn't carry much weight.


I would take Smyly right now as our #3. He is where JL has to use him. I'm getting warm and Fuzzy about Al AL and Drew.....

He leads the majors in shutouts, but I agree. He's too inconsistent to be an all-star.

You will need replacements....that is up to DD to obtain them. However with as many as 3 obvious holes in the pen....other teams know DD will be desperate. He might have to give up some real good prospects to get any thing decent.
Suggest seeing what the White Sox want for Matt Thornton. Veteran lefty. Not a star but better than what they have. He still gets lefties out, as in .163 BAA (Yes....Michigan guy, too)

Kings Island is pretty great.(The Beast) Even better that's its so close to Kentucky. You're still in Ohio, but you know that you can escape quickly if you need to. Can you get to Cedar Point by boat?
