I won't dwell on the hitting tonite simply because the Pitching is doing a bang up job.......I'm sure Pitt fans are saying the same thing.......


Nice Job on Dougie Boy and hope it works out, but Pitching isn't the problem tonite.....Could be once the Potato gets his shot.

LOL at the Tigers announcers bemoaning the Tigers lack of depth/speed on the bench. that is JL who chose the bench. Kobernus in AAA hitting 333 with 21 SB . Who needs speed when we have kelly and santiago on our bench.

Maybe JLs thinking is when we hit the playoffs we use Porcello and Smyly as 7th and 8th inning guys.

I would be thinking about it. Our relief sucks so why not use Porcello and Smyly to shut down games in the playoffs?

Well the GOOD news in the Pirates series is that the Tigers still have superb starting pitching. That is most important for winning the ALC and going far in the playoffs.

But the hitting appears to be as hot-and-cold as it was last year. They will go for stretches where they tear the cover off the ball, then go ice cold as they've done vs. the Bucs.
