AZ has two young SS in their system. With Gregorius looking real good....they will want to move them. Chris Owings is one I'd consider, he is close to being big league ready.

One of the ESPN guys said something about the team being very quiet on the flight home if they lose the game. Sorry...that I don't buy. Are you telling me that these multi-millionaires give a crap after the game is over? Miggy laughs his way through every game, you think he is going to close his mouth after the game? Fielder, Verlander, Sanchez, etc might be quiet on the plane ride home....but only because they are busy reading their portfolios.

This morning I am pondering the possibility of combining the DNA of Miggy with that of Brooks Robinson.

Also pondering a remark from smitty about Cabrera being Detroit's second best infielder. Perhaps that may be one reason the Tigers refuse to replace Peralta (and Santiago) with a slick fielding shortstop....Miggy's lack of defensive skills would stand out even more.

Now if there's a shortstop hiding somewhere who can move his feet and hit .204, I'd support Jay Honny getting a few starts at DH.

Yes, a shortstop with even average speed gets to that Beltre pop fly easily. Tigers get out of the inning still up 4-3, and who knows, things may have proceeded differently. But then, we knew going into this season where our issues were: bullpen and infield defense. The Tigers are up there in fielding percentage, but we know that isn't always a true measure of defense.
