Always loved me some grandy. Would be cool if somehow he ended up back in detroit playing LF, and retire as a tiger.

Wow a week from today we get to play houston again.

WHEN is Avila going to produce? Two K's with men on last night. One looking the other was a sissy type swing. 6 RBI's to date isn't good. Hell, Rabums is doing better. Time to play Pena.

I agree ... Pena is producing more, especially in the clutch, and appears to be a little better at throwing out baserunners. Alex has more HR pop and walks a bit more, but seriously clenches up with runners on. I don't think Avila will ever hit .250 again in his career, let alone approach the .295 he hit in 2011.

I been saying it all year.....someone check avilas bat for a big hole.....i swear if i was a lefty, i could strike him out. He doesnt even make contact against lefties. But he will occasionally hit a HR and people forget about everything else. I too think pena should get more PT.

I stopped in today expecting to see the boards pain in the ass gleaming since the tigers lost last night. Must be senior lunch day at the local old country buffett.

LOL. Well, there's a time difference in AZ, so he hasn't pulled into the Old Country Buffet yet. Of course, the fact that he's driving 28 mph on a 45 mph road isn't helping.

Appears that the Tigers are struggling in their attempt to compete at a normal major league level. Those 4 games with the Astros dulled their skills.

Can I get some info on Fister? Is he hurt, or did he just get pulled early today for being ineffective?

BigD -- No injury. According to Leyland, Fister just plain "wasn't sharp." 8 hits, 1 walk, 4 ER in 3.0 innings. Yeah, I guess he wasn't.

The Tiger bullpen only allowed 2 baserunners in the final 5.0 IP, though. Very encouraging.

Thank you very much Howie. That was what I suspected. That, or that it was weather realted.

The Tribe coming to town. They are playing some real good baseball and they activated Michael Bourn today. Need Tiger's starting pitching to get past two sub-par performances vs Washington. It also might be time for Fielder to get hot again.

I haven't seen muzz here lately. I hope he isn't connected to that school bus driver in Cleveland.

Agree that Fister was sub-par. Anibal gave up 2 ER and struck out 8 in 6 innings. If that's "sub-par", we've set the bar pretty high for our starters. It was the hitting that stunk in that game.

While you are wishing that Tigers hitters get hot, would it be too much to ask if Hunter & A Jax could join that hit parade??

Not that they are stone cold, but my fantasy teams could use the help....
