Did you watch that game? The Niners had a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter against Mahomes and the Chiefs, and they were running the ball well, but Shanahan kept having Jimmy G throw it and he kept missing, and it gave the Chiefs plenty of time to come back and the Chiefs wound up winning by 11. It was bad play calling by Shanahan, they were unable to run any time off the clock, they just stalled. It wasn’t quite as bad as Super Bowl 51 where he called pass plays and Ryan got sacked and the Falcons got penalties and they wound up out of FG range when had he just run it they could’ve kicked a FG and run time off the clock and gone up 11 on the Pats late, making a comeback unlikely. The point is is Shanahan has been the main reason his teams choked in the Super Bowl twice - first as Falcons OC then as Niners head coach. And he also had a 10 point lead in last year’s Super Bowl though that wasn’t nearly as bad of a choke, but there were some questionable play calls in the 3rd quarter of that game.

I watched it but my memory isn’t as good as yours. Totally agree about the Falcons super bowl
