Seriously, I think recently the address was changed from sportshoopla.com to sportshoop.la , so if you have it bookmarked to the old one maybe try typing it in sportshoop.la

Ok, heres one

This guy played for over 20 years and was a little above average but really flew way under the radar.
I'm not sure if I would call him overrated or underrated. His lifetime totals would lead you to believe he would be getting hall of fame consideration, but he did it over such a long period of time and was so consistently "good" that he never had that crazy mvp season (never any really terrible seasons either)
He was a rightfielder, but must have been terrible because he ended up playing more DH than anything else and racked up a -20 dWAR.
Finished with better HR and RBI totals than many hall of famers - 384 HRS, 1628 RBI but only went over 25 HR in a season once.
6 all star appearances, 4 times in the top 20 in MVP voting but never was really any threat to win it.

Not Galarraga.. At least the Big Cat had some 40 hr seasons, unlike this guy.

The guy I'm thinking of spanned a couple eras of players. He was teammates with Carlton Fisk, Greg Luzinski and Mark Mcgwire

I'm completely drawing a blank. Here's my thought process
  1. Fisk played for the Red Sox and White Sox. I'm not sure when he signed with CWS but I know he was with BOS at least until 1975 (probably later)
  2. The Bull played with the Phils until... '82? I think he signed with the White Sox in '83. Maybe '84 though
  3. Big Mac was with the A's from '87-'96 (???) I think. He retired in '01 with the Cards
So this guy was a right fielder either with the Phillies in '80 (which I don't know who that was- which makes me think he wasn't with them because if he hit 384 home runs I would think I would know him) or with Chicago in '83 or '84. He then either played with Oakland in the '80s and '90s or the Cards from '97-'01. Juan Gonzalez? I really don't know

You're on the right track. He was drafted by the White Sox and played there for a while. Then he DH'd for some other teams--Texas, Oakland, Cleveland, a couple stints with Baltimore, 2 more stints with the White Sox

For all the totals he really was kind of "meh". I think he has more hits than anyone not in the hall of fame, except for guys like Rose, Palmeiro, Bonds, etc

I have two episodes of Boardwalk Empire left. I'll let NE get this one. I can't believe I can't get a player who hit over 350 home runs. I thought I knew every player who hit over 300 home runs, but I'm starting to think I don't know him considering you gave me all his teams. Maybe I'll have an epiphany though

He doesn't even have a nickname on Baseball Reference.
His waaWL% (whatever that means) is of course exactly .500 for his career.
He was a black guy, but I'm sure his favorite ice cream is vanilla. No arrests, no scandals, 1 WS that his team lost.
He did get a ring as a coach with the White Sox in 05
