I've never had any type of serious knee injury, but as far as long range considerations, I think I'd actually rather have a ligament than a cartilage tear, if it came to that. At least there's an avenue to structural repair, by using a tendon (patellar or hamstring, I believe) from elsewhere. With a meniscus, I believe they basically just go in and sew up the remaining cartilage to 'close the holes'. Can lead to permanent problems.

Yeah that's why D-Wade have his knee problems....Back at Marquette he removed the cartilage.

Out indefinitely> out for the year

I'm just glad that its not his ACL and that he should be back in 2-3 months. At latest Rose should be back sometime in February

You seem to be forgetting how long after he was healthy he refused to play last time. I wouldn't be surprised if this "impedes the rehab" of the other knee and he blows off another year.

HGH can repair cartilage, it can not repair tendons and I think that you actually have to puncture the tendon with the needle to repair the cartilage in some cases.

Bit of a Catch 22 but tendons do repair themselves constantly. They say the average athlete's Achilles operates on 15-25% damage at all times.

Side note, Rose having these injuries is a sign of PEDs.

He's done as an elite player.

In retrospect, he was done after the first injury because he proved himself to be mentally soft. He won't be back this season and I think we all know that.

this statement unfortunately has a lot of merit.

I wont go as far as hammerdown.. and say I KNOW he wont be back this season. I just highly suspect it.
