Agreed. Paying him 15-20 million a year would be terrible, especially for a guy that arguably should be moved to LF right now. I just saw this and had to make sure everyone else knew about it to.

Please let all this Jeter talk is bullshit. Tell me that Schulman is still high from his World Series celebrations. According to mlbtraderumors.com Jeter is asking for 6 years from the Yankees, so anybody who thinks that if the Yankees refuse that then the Giants should try to outbid anything else the Yankees offer needs to be slapped repeatedly with a waffle iron (or some random object.) Jeter. No way. I would much rather have Juan Uribe come back. Younger, more power, more range, better arm. Uribe doesn't have a great OBP, but we don't even need that from him since he would likely bat at the bottom of the order, where you kinda need a guy who is a free swinger.

When something this silly gets floated I can only think it's to bid up his price so another team overpays. Similar to our 'interest' in Manny Ramirez a couple of years ago.
