the best players hit the home runs

the complementary players jog home in front of the best players

Chris Carter led the NL in Homeruns last season and couldnt find a job

And I get to see why every day

Papi the most clutch player in my history of watching baseball

F*** Him
The 3 World Series wins, he had a 1.200 OPS or greater in all 3 of those postseason runs. That's absurd. Hit .375/.508/.724/1.231 in those 44 games.

No, I'm just smart enough to know what clutch means
So Brett wasn't clutch in 1980 or 1985 then right? His postseason numbers were pretty much the same as his regular season numbers that year.

Top 3 guys in my history as a Yankees fan, dating back to the late 70's, that I hated to see at the dish with the game on the line against the Yanks:

1 - Papi
2- Edgar Martinez
3 - Griffey Jr

Destroyed us

So George Brett was never a top 5 player in baseball. Got it.

NEVER compare Brett and Jeter again

Jeter was a slap hitting bitch, in the steroid era

Brett played in one of the biggest parks of the era

Oh yeah those two both slugged 1.000 in that 1995 ALDS. And I think people forget the context. To Yankees fans, they were in a drought. 17 years since a championship.

"pretty much the same"

1.242 OPS in the ALCS
1.118 in his MVP regular season

1.326 in the 85 ALCS
1.022 in the regular season

If you didn't make it up, you had to have gotten it from somewhere (whether it be via reading or someone telling you). Which is it?

A whopping 57 more career HR's for the powerful Brett, in one more season played

George was a slap hitting bitch

Oh so we're talking about just individual series and not the full postseason?

1.090 OPS in the 1980 World Series
1.118 in the regular season

.859 OPS in the 1985 World Series
1.022 in the regular season

Or we can just look at the full postseason

1980: 1.138 in the postseason, 1.118 in the regular season
1985: 1.075 in the postseason, 1.022 in the regular season

So yes, pretty much the same.
