Denver to sign Philly Brown

Denver is expected to sign WR Corey "Philly" Brown today. The name should be familiar as Aqib Talib had the nasty facemask against him in the Super Bowl vs Carolina. Brown was decent on the Panthers. Couldn't make the Bills last year and is a longshot with our WR depth here of young players now. It makes you wonder what is happening with Carols Henderson though. Jimmy Williams also did not report. The team signed Mark Chapman yesterday a very good college WR from Central Michigan.

If both are out for a few days it give us a chance to check out some new guys. No harm there. Nether Henderson or Williams are likely to make the team. Maybe we find someone that can be on the short list to call in case of injury or Chapman might be a PS candidate.

Mark Chapman was the NUMBER ONE OVERALL PICK in the 2018 CFL Draft. Crazy that the top guy in the league would rather fight for a 3rd or 4th receiver position in the NFL. Says a lot about what a JV league the CFL is. This guy could end up being a steal for Denver. Our WR position is loaded!

Yeah well the #1 overall pick in last years CFL draft Faith Ekaktie was cut after one year in the CFL.

NFL is much much more money.

CFL draft is canadian players only so it's not like it is a HUGE draft to the CFL's building of a team. First round picks don't even make a CFL roster quite often.

and #3 or 4 WR spot? He's fighting for a PS job really.

He has a chance at that, IMO. and if he gets cut? What does he win?

A trip back to the CFL.

He has nothing to lose.

I don't know any Philip Bobo, but they Broncos did sign Bryce Bobo.

Phillip Bobo was a former WR for Washington State back in my childhood. Never made it to the NFL though. Wore the same # as Bryce in college.
