Managed to go 20 years of my life without seeing the inside of a courtroom, but I slipped up one night where I thought I had no option but to drive. If I had known how bad they royally fuck your wallet I would never have done it.

I thought it was just gonna be the fine and attorney fee, but the car insurance is by far the worst part. When it's all said and done you end up costing yourself about 20 grand.

I am never going to drive after drinking any amount of anything ever again.

1 beer an hour (while eating and drinking water) if I ever have more than that, then I know not to drive. This is of course because I weigh 230 and I know that will keep me under .08. I never drink hard liquor because you could leave a party feeling fine and that stuff could hit you in the middle of your drive home.

if any of this is true, sounds to me like he's going to be fine. he blew lower than the limit and they should have drawn blood, a decent lawyer should get him out of that.

Yeah luckily I had a good attorney who managed to keep delaying my hearing until we could get a judge who wasn't a DUI head hunter. I lucked out and got an easy going judge. My attorney gave her some sweet talk about how bright my future is and how I've never been in trouble. I gave her the sad puppy eyes and I swear to god she gave me a look like "awww you poor baby". Instead of AA meetings and community service, I got 10 days house arrest. Slap on the wrist by today's standards.

You think it's over after that, but then the insurance company basically takes out a 10 inch black dildo and shoves it up your ass with no lube.
