pedro almost hit a third one today

I know that it is still very early & this, was most certainly not a great set of pitchers that he was facing today. Also, I know Pedro has a long, long way to go,before we can completely trust him & believe that he is totally out of the woods.

Pedro though, to me, is starting to show some signs of his talent & possibly finding his stroke. Yes, he is still going to strike out a good bit. (to be expected with power hitters) Yet, I see him laying off a few more pitches, centering the ball up & hitting the ball hard, much more often.

As we know, when Pedro connects, he has easy power.

The two HR's today were indeed a Great sign.

If Pedro can continue to play well, grow in confidence & "Find It" for good.

Than the hopes for this season will continue to get brighter.

I actually think this pitching staff has the potential to be much better than the one last yr, that pitched so well in the first half. Both Starters ( Burnett & Bedard) & the pen (with the additions of the likes of Juan Cruz.)

And, if we can keep pitching as we have been & Pedro keeps up his recent positive play? Than, I think that we can compete in this division & it will make for a very interesting summer?

I may just be a blind Bucco Homer?

However, I am encouraged by what I have been seeing with this club & I am fired up!

What do you folks think? Does anyone feel the same as I do?

Thoughts...

Confidence is the most important thing for Pedro, when he is confident, he takes good ab's.

Also, it is a small sample, but his defense has been good this year, easily above average. Not saying he is going to keep it up forever, but it is interesting.

Perhaps I was one series early on predicting Pedro's signs of life.

Tabata did get his batting average above the Mendoza line, so if he runs off a little hitting streak, and his average keeps climbing, I'll call my Jose hot streak prediction correct.

I thought i WAS being positive.

Well he hit two homeruns and thats great. I want more of course, but the two he hit today are good. Maybe theyll lead to more. Maybe they wont. Its good that he contributed. Honestly we shouldve swept them. Wouldve swept them if we had a few more extra base hits. This has been a pretty successful first month i must say.

No blow-outs, but at least they got a split..... AND extended the major league record to 18 games with neither team scoring more than 5 runs.

we should have split. we lost 2 more runners trying to steal early in the inning, and we were hitting the pitcher pretty well. ran ourselves out of innings. why arent we good at stealing although we must lead the league in infield hits.

We should have got em both oh well.

We really need Pedro to establish himself this year, that would be huge. He has to keep playing because we dont have many players that can get hot with Power.

Tabata needs to get it going soon, or he might be in a platooning with Jones. If I'm the manager and trying to win the game vs a RHP and its Jones vs Tabata in rf.... not a hard call imho.
