I agree. Use his speed.I would like to see them bring in a vet ILB and use Jamin Davis like the girls use Parsons. Move him all over...
again we did that during the gibbs era and that is the thing we need to strive forOh cmon, they have or had Brady and Mahomes. They are super studs.
This year the team could have a good record , I say it’s between 7-10 wins max. But next year we run into losing Payne and Holcomb with Kurl And sweat in the on deck circleWhen you watch some of the OTA drills you see two LBers attacking sleds in the drill. Could just be a way to get more people involved in a shorter span of time OR it could be because they will (we already know this) be in 2 LBer sets most of the time. Welcome to the passing era of the NFL. Maybe they are running those drills with two guys on two sleds to simulate what they expect from these guys.
Traditional MLBs are a dying breed. 3-4 defense did not employ a MLB but two inside LBers. 4-2 does not employ MLBs. Are LBers important ... sure but in a different way. They need to be able to run and drop in coverage.
Today's game uses a box safety/LBer in the 4-2 alignment. LC was perfect for that. It hid his lack of coverage skills for the most part. He was also good as a blitzing DB. It will be interesting to see who JDR uses there this year. You need a guy that can play the run (3rd LBer) and a guy that can cover TEs and RBs. Blitz ability enhances a player like that. My personal belief is I love a D that can disguise but bring a DB from different spots.
I think some people still look at old school football and try to apply it to todays game. I think Holcomb is a good LBer and hope Davis takes the next step.
Long story short as much as I would like to have him I don't think the Redskins need a Micah Parsons. I think they need two guys that can run, pass cover and plug holes in the run game.

Sorry I meant 7-9Wait a minute. Changing your prediction? Now its 7-10 wins? Thats a huge gap. Didn't you say 8-9 before?
Curl would make a good hybrid if he were a little bit bigger. At his present size I think he'd get too beat up though. When you watch some of the OTA drills you see two LBers attacking sleds in the drill. If not mentioned already, I would not be opposed to having Kerrigan return on vet minimum as depth and to retire.
We need help at DT more then DE in my opinion as far as depth is concerned . I don’t see wise being anywhere close to settle or ionman
The staff should always look to improve. We could use an upgrade there behind Allen & Payne beside Mathis should one of our starters goes down with injury. Happens every year that the lack of sufficient depth will haunt you. With better depth, Allen & Payne could rest a few snaps during games because the drop off is not great. Should Always be looking for better depth.Wise is going to be the 4th DT this year. You are really worried about our 4th DT? Ionman was hurt and Settle was the 3rd DT last year. So its Mathis for Settle right now for meaningful playing time. So no, DT is not a problem this year.
How do you jump from saying we need depth to worried ? Ionman played in all 16 games last yr including 6 starts . Wise is at least 2 steps down from Ionman and a step down from settle easilyWise is going to be the 4th DT this year. You are really worried about our 4th DT? Robert Nkemdiche, DT, Seahawks. Age: 27. Athletic DT that fits our style of play. The staff should always look to improve. Bunch of guys only...I look at DE depth and I see JSW Tooey, WBK , Shaka khan and Obada and it looks pretty good
I would love to see Shaka at lb
