WHY? Why would you post this! Seriously.....WTF. This def sucks...Same def as last yr. Talib sucks, sure he got 2 INT. Dennard is are best CB. Secondary is terrible......fucking terrible!!! Run def was bad, No pressure at all. Geno made this def look weak! TB an Atl are going to smoke this team in the next 2 weeks. We have 3 S and 4 CB, they all suck. NE off made this def look good.....not happening this yr.

I'll give them one tick above last year's group...they were 25th overall in 2012 but I'll say middle of the pack now because they played better with Talib and Dennard late last year. They have inside issues when Vince isn't on the field and lack speed at LB. A good team with a good QB will cause a lot of problems this year and Brady will not be able to keep pace...until week six or later.

You also have to remember that Geno Smith stayed in the pocket waaaaaaaaay too long which allowed the D to sack him. The Defense did step up when they had to last night though

The Pats play better defense as the season moves along; but as of right now they've given up slightly over 300 yds per game against two rookie QB led-offenses and that puts them at 11th overall in team defense for yards allowed.

They look like they'll be middle of the pack.

Here is my take, IMO the Donks offense appears to be " ELite ", let's see how this defense does against them, then and only then will I be comfy assigning the " Elite " moniker.

No defense can ever be crowned elite after two weeks.

They did what was asked of them. They have the league's #6 passing defense and #11 total defense (#29 rushing defense) at this point. Manuel looked meh at best, and Geno Smith looked absolutely terrible last night. Some of that comes down to - Manuel looks like he has potential at QB and Smith looks like another Jets QB bust right now (omg does he look bad, he'll have Jets fans wishing they had Sanchez - or Tebow - back in no time).

But they haven't played an offense that SHOULD score points on them yet. They've done what's needed, but there's a long road to travel before we even start talking about where this defense ranks. At least they didn't make those guys look good, though. That's a big step forward from a couple years ago.

To be crowned elite after two weeks you'd better have given up under 100 yards to Denver and the saints and shut them both out.

The defense has kept us in both games though. Without them the struggles on offense would be a bigger concern.

really after two weeks and playing two rookie QB's. Sorry but i'm not impressed with the Pats so far this year, barely beating Buffalo and barely beating the Jets. Now NE has TB, ATL, CINCY and NO coming up. How many of those games do you guys honestly expect to win playing the ball the team has been playing? 1 maybe 2 is my guess. you'll still make the playoff because that divisions sucks balls, but don't get a big head after 2 weeks. Yes my Ravens sucked last week and if they continue to play like they did against Denver I'll say the same shit about them.
