I'm wondering if his 17m price tag takes us out of the running for Garrett. Does AP give Deebo 17 and then turn around and give Garrett 19.7?
When Allen is gone it will offset the price for Deebo , so I would think we are still in great shape for Garret

Fuck. So the 9ers just fleeced the shit outta the Skins. Getting rid of the most overrated player to ever don a pair of cleats n a likely malcontent no doubt. For a 5th rounder who has the chance to become the greatest 5th rd draft pk the game has ever seen.

If someone didn't know better. They'd swear Riverboat was still calling and missing shots.

Nope. It is a fifth rounder. Deebo is worth that, even if overrated. Maybe KK can get the miracle production out of him he had for a single year.

Deebo is basically a bigger eckler. He’s a physical player when healthy, hard to bring down. Good value for a 5th imo

Again....I was speculating on their thought process. I didn't say I wanted anything. I just said I hope they aren't done. If you are itching for a gotcha moment tonight. Sorry to disappoint.

not at all. maybe i mis interpreted what you said.

Other than being a pick of the current staff. What makes you think Luke will or should end up a head of Dyami on the depth chart?

Luke is under contract and Dyami is a free agent now so there's that and in a bit of a surprise to some . Look who's listed as the 50th best player in FA according to NFLN talking head Greg Rosenthal.

I just said that b/c Brown is a FA right now and Luke is currently on the roster.

Of course, if brown is brought back, he could beat out Luke.

I think this a good get losing a 5th rounder I am sure Adam Peters will get a 5th rounder back somehow like trade down in a draft etc etc .. deebo just puts more pressure on defenses for sure

This guy is a classic bounce back in a new situation candidate. He isn't the same player as 3 years ago but he just turned 29, he missed just 2 games in the past 2 seasons. He wanted out in SF and once it went off the rails he mailed it in, unfortunatly this happens in sports.

My only concern is it may be a 1 year rental. But going from Dyami Brown to Deebo Samuel, even this version, is a huge upgrade.

Luke has to step up, I believe that his spot is secured as a returner but, they have to expect more from the third rounder. Is he tradeable?

I think there has to be a little concern about Luke. He was getting playing time early in the year and that all but disappeared as the season went on. There has to be a reason for that.

While he got what he could on returns let's not pretend he has the explosion to be considered their future return man. They obviously are not giving up on him but to fans every mid-round pick will be a productive player and the facts just don't bear that out. He is much more likely to be a JAG than a regular contributer on a really good team.

Again, the Commanders are absolutely in a win now mode.
They made the NFC conference championship, so what are they supposed to do, lower their goals or prepare to take that final step?
Nobody said, nor suggested they give up on luke! He's definitely a kick returner, but he's going to make the better part of his money as a WR. The question isn't one about giving up but being talented out of that quest in Washington. Deebo is an all purpose kind of player, essentially a modified WR3, and that level of competition will definitely make it more difficult for Luke to claim those duties.

what I meant in win now mode, is that would they go in FA and blow all the money to win this year? or be calculated in FA. Do they draft for the need guys to win this year or do they draft BPA for the future?

First, there's no situation in life where I'd recommend "blowing all the money," for a return of immediate gratification. Tomorrow comes every 24 hours.
Btw;
The answer to your second and third questions is yes! Two things can be true at the same time, so BPA for the future can and should be guys that also gives them the best chance to win this year. (Remember I was among the first to push for Tee Higgins who is 26)
To be clear, In all of my posts, I've never advocated for older guys 29-30+ year olds, even cautioning against signing Terry to a long term contract. (He should be extended no more than 2-3 years max, with a heavy lean towards 2 years)

So you must be upset at the Deboo trade. So what the Rams did to get their Super Bowl doesn't do it for you?
