Calvin Johnson is not done with his career... and it is hard to compare a great WR to a great QB, totally different skill sets... If you want to know who is more important- the QB is always more important than the WR....

The answer will always be Marino. Plus Calvin still has at most 10 years to do it.

Does Jim Brown count?

No. He retired pre-SB and he got his championship. I may be biased but I'll go with Barry. His career as an RB was at least as good as Marino's was as a QB....and knock it off with Calvin. He has plenty of good years left and the Lions have enough bad mojo working against them. There are others that should be in this discussion too. Randy Moss, Anthony Munoz, Gonzo, etc...

Barry Sanders, if he had played for Dallas in the 90's he would have rushed for 20,000 yards.

Calvin Johnson will probably go down as either the greatest or 2nd greatest WR to ever play the game behind Jerry Rice. Marino isn't even a top 5 QB of all time IMO. Gotta go w/ the decepticon.

IDK about that. He wasn't the type of runner that got behind the line and patiently set up his blocks. His strength was swinging to the outside and getting in to space.

And Dallas' O-line would have been FAR better at letting him do that than those crappy Lions' O-lines behind which he ran.

Dallas' o-line is one of the best of all time.

But I really just think that how bad those Detroit lines were is greatly exaggerated. In part because of Sanders running style and his legend.
