De Silvestro switches to F1, signs with Sauber

I wasn't sure whether to put this one in the IndyCar or F1 Offseason thread - And as this is "big news" for both series, I figured that it deserved it's own.

Simona inks test/development deal with Sauber

I don't know if she would have ultimately proven to be a better driver than Danica, but at least she never showed any outward signs of putting on the "look at me; I'm a star!" airs, and that alone made her quite popular with a large segment of the IndyCar fan base.

Best of luck to you, Simona. I hope that you get your shot at a seat come next year.

Yea Simona was driving fairly consistent enough to be competitive in the IRL and that apparently was enough to get her foot in the door at Sauber.

I was really hoping to see her in a high end Indy ride. I now we will never get too see that, but I guess this would be cool to keep an eye on too. Hope she does well.

It's to bad she didn't have a better ride in the IRL. Hopefully we'll get the chance to find out how good she really is in Formula 1.
