Wilbur Marshall........11th pick overall in the 1984 draft out of Florida......2x ProBowl 1x All-Pro......two pays really standout for me,the hit on Joe Ferguson in Detroit where he laid him out while knocking him out cold......
And the fumble recovery in the snow taking it to the house for the game sealing td in the NFC title game to send us to SB XX......





After Walter Payton,maybe my 2nd favorite player of all-time......

Marshall was my favorite D player on the team, I was super bummed when the Bears did nothing to retain him.

Olin Kruetz.......drafted in the 3rd round back in 1998 out of Washington......a nother line of great centers we have had....Poles can we get another......??
6x ProBowl-1x All-Pro - All 2000s team........

so glad you went Olin and not Thayer. I always remember being the first guy there to pick up his running back.

These are the guys that set the tone that you do not need to "waste" a first or second round pick on a center. This 1998 draft, first center taken was Newberry from the niners at 58, 120 career games, two time pro bowler. Olin was taken at 62, 195 career games, 6 time pro bowler.

So you might not have to take this next center in the first or second round, just seems like they have to be the first or second off the board to have a chance to find a winner.

Bill Hewitt......out of Michigan is the only player to wear the no.56......he refused to play without a helmet until 1939 when the rules changed.( imagine playing without one)
4x All-Pro made the HOF in 1971.....
A two way player who was also a wr that lead the league in rec tds with 5 in 1934......

Theres a couple of guys that could go here,and the no.55 has been worn by some good company,so Im gonna go oldschool again : Doug Buffone.....

A 4th round pick from Louisville,Doug played all 14 years with Chicago.....
His first two interceptions came off of Bart Starr and Johnny Unitas.....
When he retired,he was the last Bears member who played for George Halas......

54 has to be Brian Urlacher, I found this picture that most resembles his glare at the sideline in the second half of the superbowl, when Lovie took play calling away from Rivera and we went vanilla.

There is an FYI with the number 54.........

chuck Howley the HOF Dallas Cowboy was drafted by the Bears with the 7th overall pick in the 1958 draft,( something I did not know) retired because of a season ending knee surgery ended up coming back and made a career for himself......
And still the only player to be named SB MVP on a losinng team.......

Khalil Mack........his 1st game as a Bear was s memorable one,he recorded a sack, forced fumble, a fumble recovery, interception, and touchdown in one half. First time it had happened since 1982........
A 3x ProBowl 1x All-Pro in the 4 seasons he was with Chicago.......

Dick Butkus.......one of the goat mlb'ers........even a goat name imo.
Drafted out of Il in 1965 with 3rd pick of the draft.
Named to 8 ProBowls 6 All-Pros All 60s and 70s team 2x DPOY in 1969 and 1970..........

Drafted out of Baylor in the 2nd round pick no.38(what a steal).behind Kieth Van Horne.........10x ProBowl 7x All-Pro made HOF in 1998........

I gave up trying to find the picture of Butkus tackling 3 packers because one of them had the ball.

For some reason (that there is completely nothing wrong with) me disliking the male stripper movie was because I used Magic Mike to describe Singletary. I dont know how he got there, or thru those blocks, but he made that tackle.


It is a great injustice in the NFL that Mike has never coached for our bears.
