So now that we have Doctson on board (love it!) and the first round complete it's time to look at our round 2 options and there are some good ones. Still on the board...

Myles Jack - best player in the draft? (Besides doctson of course :thumb:)
Ashawn Robinson - I know some of us wanted him at 21
Reggie Ragland - also wanted by some at 21
Jarrab Reed - probably the player most commonly mocked to us at 21
Chris Jones - a personal favorite
Emanuel Ogbah - Preston smith 2.0?

Countless others honestly lol. I think we're gonna get a damn good player tomorrow. Any favorites?

I doubt any of them will be available when we pick but you would have to think we are going best DL available. At some point early, we will have to pull the trigger on DL. There again, we don't need to reach for a player either. I would like to see FS and NT addressed tomorrow for sure.

Blind guess...Austin Johnson.

At 53, I think we end up with the best of the 2nd tier D-lineman on the board. I like Doctson, dont get me wrong. But we better score a shit ton of points, because we couldnt keep my 102 year old grand mother from rushing for 100 yards when we had Hatcher and Pot Roast.

Right now I say Billings drops to us. My surprise pick if Billings isn't there is TJ Green from Clemson.

Jonathan Bullard is my pick

He absolutely dominated Kelly last year

IVe been saying Austin Johnson for awhile now. He should be there especially with the bama guys and billings still on the board.

I think we see Hack and Cook go in the first couple of picks before the run on DL...

Im really hoping we get 1 of Reed, Billings, Robinson, Bullard, or Jones and I will be a very happy camper.

I think we should consider another receiver round 4-5

If Laronte Carroo or Pharoah Cooper are available we should pounce. Carroo is probably the best receiver in the draft but has serious character concerns so I doubt SM goes that route

Everyone here expects DL to be addressed with this pick, but thinking about our uncertainty at QB, don't be surprised if SM takes a RB (Henry) at 53 if he's still there.

Got a question for you guys though.........Will SM even get close to his desired 12 picks in this draft?

I think it ends up being Derrick Henry also, assuming all of the names noted above have been taken, including Von Bell. Only other option is center. If it is none of these guys or Henry, a very good pick could be Cash out of Duke. Would give us our safety. For some reason, if feels like this is going to end up being offense heavy draft that needed to be defense. I think we draft Henry and Cardale Jones in the 3rd or 4th. Then it would have to be all defense the rest of the way and a center from the undrafted group.

my ideal scenario would be Reed, then Ragland, then Billings, then Henry. would love one of those 3 defensive guys and get lucky with Henry in the 3rd. Of course if Jacks falls to us, take him.

I wonder if we are one of the 10 teams willing to take a change on Jalen Smith in round 3?

I don't think he gets his 12 picks. Tons of DL available. Billings and Johnson should be there when we pick. Also the center Martin.

Very interesting suggestion of Jeremy Cash with that pick, I see SM really calling his name in round 4 though. Not so sure about Cardale Jones in 3, he seems to be more of a long term project and I believe that we need a more NFL ready type QB in that round. Besides, if he is the pick, the sound you'll hear will be heads exploding from some on this site!:pound:

I think Ragland and Robinson are the two I couldn't pass up if they somehow last that long - which they won't. Ragland's a perfect search and destroy ILBer in our zone defense, and Robinson has too much "upside" to pass up.

If Henry is still on the board i think they take him ... but wouldnt be surprised to see the Raven take him early.
