It's true. The numbers are available and everything. He had a great first year in NY in 2009. Since then he has had a declining OPS every year. He also hasn't hit above .260 since 2009. Don't worry, he's still much better than Overbay.

yeah, ok

it was handed on a silver platter because he put in a closer that doesn't pitch well in big moments

You must not remember much about that game.

THAT I have to agree with! If he can't outperform Lyle Overbay....well...I don't know what to tell you!

Lyle Overbay has been great, especially in big spots

The end

Gen would be more than happy to talk about it if the standings were reversed or his side wasn't on a pesky 5 game skid

Nah...

He's not Down

I'm sure Tex will be fine, but it would be funny to see Yankee fans calling for Overbay after Tex gets the golden sombrero.

Overbay was one of those guys who the seeing eye test tells me he's raking, but the stats tell me otherwise

Like Dirt with Nunez. only Overbay doesn't suck that much

His averaged has dropped

His HR and RBI totals have stayed solid

Yes, in spite of what you hear from fans of teams that don't play in the postseason, HRs and RBIs are important

He's 100% right...his HR and RBI production has been pretty flat...but EVERYTHING else has gotten progressively worse the last 4 years...

Won't you have to drop someone else to take on Konerko? I'm not a votto fan, and machado has been killing it for me in hits lately. I'd jump on that, doubly so in a keeper league. Mine is a year to year, so lose that cool aspect of it.

I agree. Dropping guys is no problem on my shit team

I know Konerko sucks, this is a Machado keeper for Votto

That's true

I just wish Teixeira would remember the past few Octobers that he is in fact playing in the postseason
