Mariano is the most valuable player in franchise history. Think about it, without him they wouldn't throw that "greatest closer in history" shit around all the time.

If Trevor had played for the Yankees, he'd be known as the greatest baseball player in the history of the game. His presence and personality would have been eaten up by Yankees fans and added to his personna. But he pitched his whole career at Jack Murphy instead of Yankee. Big difference.

If Craig Biggio had played three or more years on the Yankees (and won a ring with them), he'd have been a first ballot lock.

One of the many reasons I love you

So rare to get a sox fan to admit the obvious. Lester has been sub par in 4 of his last 5, but you'd never know it unless Im getting yelled at for suggesting it

From the guy that called a 5 inning performance "brilliant"

:laugh3:

And you're either calling 9 shutout innings, or 7 innings 2ER "subpar"

Awesome...

And his last start? 7 IP 4 ER? Against a cleveland team the way they were hitting? I was happy with it...not his best stuff, but he ground through it and pitched pretty well...

6 IP 3 ER in Texas? Another I'll take...the only one I really thought he stunk up the joint? Was the start in Chicago...and that's a team that's always given him problems for some reason...

Oh, I've been wondering who has the most expensive beer in the bigs. Gotta be the Yankees, right? Or maybe Wrigley (bunch 'o fuckin drunks) or Dodger or AT&T?

At Petco it's $8.75 I think. Which brings up another question I've got...

No, this was 3 starts ago where he gave up 2 runs in 7 IPs and the team won the game 9-2 over the Rays.

4 starts ago he pitched a CG SO 1-hitter...

So much for "subpar in 4 of his last 5"

Why do you discuss Boston baseball so much when you clearly don't pay shit for attention to it?

Am I the only guy who either drinks a 6-pack on the way in or goes to a bar to watch the game or stays sober until afterward and then gets drunk but one way or another refuses to pay $9 per beer at games? Same at Chargers games. I drink a 12-pack on the way in and then only need one for maintenance at halftime.

Yes. In these circles, this phenomenon is known as the "Craig Biggio Theory".

Maybe if he could've done a little better at Jack Murphy in the 1998 world series, he would've had the opportunity a few days later to show what he can do at Yankee Stadium

About the same at Fenway...they made a big deal about "dropping" the price of beers durring april home games this year..turns out they took a 16oz beer, turned it into a 12oz beer...and charged a couple bucks less...

Hoping we see Aprils version of Tex in June.

Also think his power will be significantly down this year because of the injury.

That's the big talking point today. Does Tex get off to hid usual start. I'm not the biggest Tex fan, but with the lineup they've been trotting out, it's an upgrade by default if nothing else

Yankees/Red Sox talk sucks cocknballs

We could talk about the distinct possibility that the Reds are the third best team in the NL central.

Tough not to be talking about it with the Sox/Yanks series 7 hours away.

We can talk about how well the Reds did against the Indians if you wish?

That debacle was almost entirely the responsibility of Bochy. Trevor didn't have his stuff but that game was handed to the Yankees on a silver platter.

Picked him up to stash on my DL. Will wait to see if he produces before making a move to get him onto the roster. Maybe he can be a util, because I doubt he replaces Machado

I was just offered this today

Machado and Konerko for Votto

Bonus for me is Machado is a 12th round keeper

Thoughts?
